With all the will in the world, I will buy things from wherever offer me the best value like for like.

If that’s Amazon, so be it. I appreciate small businesses are struggling, but I also am aware of the mark up they’ve charged for years. When I worked bars and used cash and carry I seen exactly what they paid for goods, then absolutely robbed folk for.

It’s a 2 way street. I’ll pay more than a supermarket gladly, but will I pay double when I know they’ve marked up 60%? Will I ****.

Fair point but Amazon is not necessarily cheaper as it wants its rake off too

Aye. To be fair mate I rarely buy off Amazon I find the search on the site to be absolute dog ****. I do buy from other major retailers regularly though.

I’d love the incentive to spend local, it just isn’t often there. I buy a lot of house stuff from smaller independents, but my main monthly spending goes on clothing and you are talking anything up to 40% cheaper on sites like ASOS, for top brands.

Small cafes etc, absolutely, but prime example of greed is the shop along from me, when Covid first kicked off I went in for sugar and he tried charge me £2.80. £2.80 is nothing to me, but someone taking the piss is. I’ve not stepped foot in that shop since, I’d wager I spent £40-60 a week in there before that incident.

eBay are far more ethical than Amazon.. two different types of organisation altogether.

I've been to both their head offices and met plenty of staff - the have a completely different view of the world from eachother.
I know they're different organisations all together man give me some credit ffs<laugh> I never said they were the same I said they both have independent business selling through them which they do.

I've just ordered a Christmas present for our grandson in New Zealand. We ordered through amazon.com (usa) - same item was almost twice the price on the uk site and the shipping rate was much cheaper- I really like Amazon!
