I thought Ramsey was very poor yesterday and I am one of his defenders. I really like the lad but it seems like he is only playing at 70% of his ability. I believe this to be purely a psychological problem. I have to reference Eduardo who was possibly our most dangerous player in front of goal since TH14 departed. I see so many similarities because both were psychologically scarred when they returned to the first team. Eduardo needed a change of environment to regain his confidence and maybe Ramsey does too. It doesn't mean he is all of a sudden a pile of **** it just means that maybe he can't overcome the psychological hurdle while still at Arsenal. I personally hope he can because I believe the real Ramsey I know and loved when he arrived is hiding somewhere. This will be his defining season and if he doesn't improve then I have no doubt he will be sold by the end of the season but then again we said that about so many payers who Wenger likes too keep as a matter of principle.
Serves him right for being such a wuss tbh. Maybe if Arsenal weren't such a delicate, whining bunch their players wouldn't be so mentally and physically fragile.
It's 'you're' It's true though. Arsenal encourage diving, moaning and general wussiness then get upset when their players get injured or are mentally weak (Most of them still haven't recovered from the 2011 Carling cup for Christ's sake)
Ok so if a player gets his leg broken in 2 then that makes him mentally weak because he is unable to recover to standard he was previously!? That's a harsh attitude but what really worries me about your opinion is that you think it serves him right! Why do you think that just out of interest...
Arsenal turned him into a diving pretty boy. Then complain when he loses his manliness and can't deal with tackles. Comprende?
Righto... I refer back to my mentally fragile comment I made earlier about you (with corrected grammar of course)
So first off, I don't think Ramsey deserves any booing and I think debates on whether he is "good enough" are very stupid. He obviously is good enough, because the manager puts him in the team; end of debate. For me, I think when he gets to 28/29 he will be as good/better as Arteta is, but that tackle hurt his shot, and stole a yard or two of pace off him, which has just robbed him of that ability to excel playing either side of the striker. I think he should be working on his defense and converting to holding midfield, looking to play the Arteta position.
I think Ramsey has taken far too much stick. He did a brilliant job of comming into the first team after a terrible injury lay off. He was given the responsibility of being the creative force in place of Fabregas/Wilshere/Nasri. He was over-used and struggled towards the end of the season. But without him we would not of been top 4 imo. He did very ewll considering the circumstances. This year he is a back-up and has on several occasions shown his previous very good form. Alot of fans get on his back and look for any mistake he makes and highlight it - but he has actually been good i think. I like him and hope the fans don't keep on at him as he will be a big player for us - he is still very young. Walcott got the same treatment - even when he wasnt playing people were blaming him for our loses! Now people act liek the sun shines from his arse. Fickle football fans who can't accept that sometime your club loses and it doesnt have to be one individual persons fault!!! Blame culture is lazy and just cuases problems!
Sorry not end of debate, thats what this board is for. He certainly isn't,t playing well at present, I for one hope he gets his confidence back and achieves his potential. I have seen him dominate games in the past, lets hope he gets back to that . Your faith in Wenger is touching, but can I point out that he has also played Chamackh, Park, Squid Bentdner Arshavin etc. who obviously are not good enough in my opinion.
Always have trouble with the "Not Good Enough" aargument because if we had 11 or 22 players that were good enough, we couldn't afford to pay them. On top of that Ramsey can't dominate a game if Cazorla/Arteta/Wilshere is. This is a team game. How much of Rosicky's good performance last night was because Ramsey was always around to support him?
Sorry Toledo I am having trouble understanding you drift. Each player brings something to the team, at present Ramsey isn't bringing enough, not just him. The bit about not being able to pay good players went straight over my head.
So you think that the entire Swansea, Villa and Norwich teams are good enough for Arsenal? My point was is that in a team not everyone can be a superstar, and every time a player at Arsenal becomes "Obviously good enough" they leave, because we can't pay them enough. I don't hear Man Utd fans saying none of their players are good enough, because they lost to Norwich.
The manager used to play the likes of Denilson in the team, did that mean they're good enough? Heck, even Santos, and Squilachi, manager plays them, are they good enough? Just because a manager puts a player in the starting 11, doesn't automatically make that player good enough.
You wont hear them complain too much , they are sitting at the top of the table, so when they lose its a glitch. How many of us HONESTLY even thought we would win last night. ? The team has been neglected for financial concerns. Now its decline cannot be hidden from even the most rose tinted fans. We all complained LAST season as it was the worst start for 53 years . Now this season start is even more dissappointing than last. Dont expect people NOT to have a go at the players when they see them WITH THEIR OWN EYES playing awful. Its not unusual . Your arguement about " if we had 11 players good enough we couldnt afford to pay them " given that Swanseas players ROASTED us and they dont earn sh1t. Dont really stand up does it. ? In fact it borders on the ridiculous.
Stop comparing apples and oranges, Manunited fans, for starters, have complained on many occasions about players at their squad being not good enough. But to even compare their loss to Norwich with ours shows how your living in the past and see us as equals. Erm hello? Manunited sit at the top of the table, 15 points clear of us. When Arsenal lose, it's because of a long pattern of how poor we've been, which is why we're 10th in the league. All elite teams lose in a season, just like United did, but with Arsenal that's not the case with as we're consistently dropping points because of how poor we've become. we're 10th in the league, United are 1st, if you can't see that difference, then erm I don't know.
Well my point is that it does. It means he is most probably the best available choice. I may be wrong, but I got the impression that the phrase, "Not good enough" refers to some arbitrary standard that a fan or fans in general have of how good an Arsenal player should be, not that there were better players on the bench that the manager could have played, but didn't. My issue with this "Standard" is that there is no test that Arsenal could afford this imaginary team where everyone in the squad meets the mark, or that these 11 Superstars could play together, all dominating the game at once.
