Today we saw young Aaron come on as a sub for Radhi Jaidi and he did well according to all of the reports I have seen so far. Made a quick tackle after coming on and maintained a cool calm exterior under pressure.

It was interesting to see that he took Jaidi's place on the left of the defence instead of when with Fonte previously Fonte had moved across to accommodate him.

I hope that this will be the first of several appearances for Aaron because I have always rated him as a genuinely good prospect.
 
I hope he starts Tuesday night, and he deserves a regular run in the side, as when he has played he's been out star player 99% of the time he is a quality prospect who i highly rate
 
I agree I am of the opinion that Young Martin is being blooded for next year. He has good potential. <ok>
 
Martin should definitely start. Today Jaidi looked slow and not good on the ball. We need to sort out the centre back pairing as Seabourne and Jaidi are not good enough. I thought we should of brought a new centre back in Januray, but Martin is best we have.

Should he start Tuesday - mixed views....This mid week games are must win ones so should we risk playing Martin, who has hardly played this season.... to be thrown in this late in the season when we fighting for automatic place???

IMO - If Jaidi is fit for Tuesday ....Play Jaidi til 2nd half then give Martin a run out!

Jaidi has been on the money lately & has been a tower at the back. Jaidi looked tired today after 70mins as anyone would at his age with the number of performances he has put in. Martin has potential but my heart sank when he came on and the ball ended up in the back of the net. Thank goodness for offside. Glad he got a chance today as with Seaborne's injury he got a seat on the bench & got a chance. Will be interesting to see who gets the shirt & who gets the bench on Tuesday. My gut feeling is Adkins will go for experience.
 
i agree with martin being nurtured slowly as the pressure is much greater on a centre back, any mistake can lead to a goal. The difference with Chambo is that as a right midfielder it is much less likely that any mistake will lead to a goal. Happy to see him getting 20 minutes every now and then. Then in the next pre season to see him given a much bigger chance and then next season a much larger role.
 
Another player undeservedly dropped after a good performance (was FANTASTIC against Blackpool like the whole team) and we haven't seen him since.

Hopefully follows up his 20 mins today with 90 on Tuesday.
 
I doubt he'll be starting on Tuesday, Jaidi will probably play and be taken off for him later on.

We need to give him game time though because he's got alot of potential.

Think its time that Martin staked a claim for the 1st team,Jaidi wont go on for long and certainly cant play tues/sat for too long,so now is the time to throw him in.
At home against Yeovil is as good a time to do it,and he seems to have a good connection with Fonte.
Three points tues night will set us up for a really difficult match against Bournemouth on saturday where three points is a must if we want the 2nd auto spot.
 
My biggest fear is the fact that he is still not on a long contract. His current one runs out in the summer unless he has signed and I missed it.

I have a hunch that he could play tomorrow as we are at home and supposedly playing a weaker side.

Totally agree with you SL, he ticks all the boxes for me & the few appearances he's made, he has looked solid & very confident.
 
Thought he was given a 2.5 year contract by Pardew which would mean he is not out of contract until next year. I find it strange though that he has not been included on the bench more although can see that his experience only puts him 4th choice. I think he is showing promise and is worth a decent contract.
 
Think he is a great prospect, and have been suprised at his lack of appearances this season. Think he might get a run out tomorrow night, and keep Jaidi for the Bournemouth match, because if Jaidi plays tomorrow, he won't be starting on Saturday. Anyone know how long Seaborne is out for?
