When the players run out against Reading just look around you and see the vast crowd and think that's roughly the number of innocent Americans killed by guns each year .
Whatever the arguments, the truth is that guns are bad for you and that the law must now be brought in to stop these insane killing of innocent people
I would imagine we have less than 50 but perhaps my archive man named Matt will oblige

There is a remarkably close correlation in western countries between guns per 1000 population and gun deaths per 100000

Won't post the stats here but it's all on wiki and other places

The gun lobby are so dishonest in their arguments. The only valid argument I know is that it's essential to being an American, somehow as important as (say) the right to drive a car. At least that would be an honest position, the bs they come out with instead is disgraceful

Not too sure about that, I think the US are way out in front in guns per 1000 population but don't even make the top ten for firearms deaths per 100,000 population per year.

That's all well and good, but how do you enforce such a law

The right to bear arms brigade seem to be terrified at the thought of being unarmed but surely there is no need to have a machine gun to protect your home.

You have to compare like with like, if you look at western countries like US UK Germany France Canada Sweden you will find it is so

The gun lobby always pick some third world country where guns per 1000 is lower but there's 10 times the deaths. But I'm talking about similar western countries with similar police forces, laws, etc

But if you are using stats to prove a point you have to use all the stats, not pick and choose which ones you want to use. I was quoting world stats not just selective ones.

When i was in Florida around 15 years ago i noticed a poster in a petrol station that said ; 'Pull a gun on someone =5 years. Discharge a gun at someone = 10 years, Injure/kill someone = Life', I know gun laws vary from state to state but a sentence like that would deter me from carrying a gun as like knives over here if you've got one you'll use it.
Guns are in the American DNA, every lowlife has a gun which is why the Police are so trigger happy when they catch up with a criminal 'shoot or be shot' is their policy.
My answer is too jail anyone who illegally has a gun and after a amnesty start raiding the homes/hang outs of known criminals and gang members make guns too hot to handle.
