Why on earth would anyone piss and moan about something that isn't ever going to happen?

Spook was just trying (in vain) to be cool.
He's young.

This is possibly timely. Firstly, as OLM says, what ever differences of opinion we have on various topics doesn't negatively affect moderation, if anything it compliments it, and we have absolutely no problem communicating on modding issues, and do so regularly.

I've been thinking of stepping down for some time, because I don't think I'm committed enough to the board, which means that more and more falls on to OLM, which isn't fair, and is possibly not the best for the board.

If people are okay with me being half hearted, I'm happy to continue as is, but it could be a good time for someone else to step up.

It would seem my feeling that we were running with one and a half mods wasn't too far wrong.

Personally I believe the board will benefit by you retaining your role in full, or at a reduced level of involvement; as and when you can.

Maybe that's an option for new blood, or old mods who might return on those reduced terms. Pretty sure there were some decents volunteers a few years ago.

I think they do a decent job. They could do with some help though - I can't actually think of anyone to suggest, as like you say it is a thankless task. Someone who doesn't get involved in arguments - rules out most on here <laugh><laugh>

John Ex Aberdeen now ER or Dr Stanley O'Google would probably be my two suggestions. Two popular posters that seldom have spats.

What?

Johns an argumentative old bugger and regularly in disagreements, and Stanners, ffs, he lives in Norfolk.

Scarbs would be funny as a mod.

Charlie would be my fave though on balance.

Cortez, if you're serious and as long as nobody has any serious objections, we can run it by the supermods, as they have the final say.

If people are happy with it, I'll stay around for the time being, at least until Cortez finds his feet.

If he's owt like Chazz he won't have seen them for a long time.

That aside, yeah no objections from me, chuck up a thread to see if anyone does have any objections then make it a done deal?

I think another thread would be unnecessary; the important thing is that the current mods are happy to work with Cortez, which it appears they are.
Fair point.

I was just hoping it'd give our feckless mods something to do.
