I ask you the same question that Wiz declined to answer would your thoughts be the same if the word was the offensive racist slur rather than this homophobic one?

and what's wrong with the Sainsbury's ad, isn't it just a family at Christmas?
It's not proportional and I'm not sure what you're asking regarding the racist slur??

What's not proportional? As far as I can see its a single family enjoying Christmas, what's proportional got to do with it? And would your reaction be the same if the words in the song was changed from a homophobic slur to a racist one?

When an advert at Christmas features just white people there's hell to play.....which I think is fair enough.
The Sainsbury's advert is just dedicated to a Black family solely, not one white person featured at all..........Is that the proportional?
As to the song....The answer is that it isn't so I have no reaction......Like I said, even if I was gay...I wouldn't be upset and laugh it off.....
School kid's used to take the piss because my Mother was Italian............water of a ducks back mate!!

Just for once I'll give you an answer in response, which I believe is an honest one, it's the last line of my comment #20, the important words were 'Censorship' which I don't believe in and unless 'breaking the law' which a racial slur I believe constitutes

'Censorship in anything unless directly breaking the law is totally unecessary and an insult to intelligent minded people of any ilk'

Ah now I understand you are saying that every black family should have a white person in it. Another nice avoidance of the question. Why is one acceptable and the other not? They both upset people of the communities they are aimed that. I bet schoolkids today wouldn't and that's because times have changed!

Are you saying that homophobic slurs are not breaking the law?

uum I had to think about that one !
There is a lot of unproportional adverts around know one programme I watched had 5 consequetive adverts no characters were white .. we are now surrounded by more mixed race families according to tele ads.
It just seems the companies ordering the ads are trying to out do each other hoping maybe to attract more of the non white population through their doors. A year ago tv was pretty well balanced most ads were balanced and had a certain normality about them, now it seems condescending …

Oliver's Army is still waiting for censorship I think.......

May be wrong of course!!
The BBC has provoked complaints after censoring the Elvis Costello song Oliver's Army in a 6 Music radio broadcast. The Mail reports that the line "one more widow, one less white n----r" was edited from the song – one of British singer-songwriter Costello's best-known – on Steve Lamacq's 6 Music show last week.

Well up to you, but I never said every black family should have a white person in it. (you made it up).....You are obviously upset regarding the word "Fair" and maybe the word "Proportional" oh and probably the word "Diversity"......................................what can I say?!!!!
