Unfortunately, people have now forgotten that we are The Tigers.

Allam has turned the word tiger into a dirty word that instantly gets people's backs up as soon as they hear it.

I'd argue others have helped make it a dirty word. It doesn't need to be.

Whatever else, it is a huge part of us and our history and should be reclaimed.

Until the Allams accept the fact that we are Hull City, publicly say so and stop the stealth rebranding and elimination of the words Hull City the word tiger will come across as a dirty word.

It also requires a change of attitude from the owner. Not unreasonable for supporters to want to see this, least of all when it comes to the issue of the name 'Tigers'. Surely you can't disagree?

I more than understand what you're saying, and it has certainly become that way, but we'd be failing if we didn't address that in amongst the other stuff, because I believe, what ever the root cause, we'd be playing our part in destroying a significant part of our history.

I feel some on here post things thinking the topic of Anti Allam will sway their comments to become a bigger issue than what it is.

I'm another that has no issue with the Tigers Trust nor the scoreboard saying Tigers. I can't think why having Tigers on the scoreboard is an issue whatsoever. It was the rebrand to Hull Tigers that most didn't like, however our nickname is The Tigers and something to be celebrated

I don't see the problem here to be perfectly honest. Tigers' Trust do good stuff, all fine by me.
We agree on something then.

I'm struggling to see how people can turn this announcement into the ****e in this thread.

Dutch is right too. Some of you need to move on. I'd add you need to grow the **** up too. You really can't keep blaming the Allams for regurgitating the same tired and wrong crap.

Changing the score board is a clear provocation to his most loyal customers. As I said, I saw West Stand empty - they were the only people interested in having Tigers on the score board. Just because we disagree on the city of culture bid etc plan for the city doesn't mean we have to automatically assume positions in opposition.
silly ****.... stop being a pussy

im 99% sure back in the league one/div 3 days

the scoreboard before it was like a screen said

the tigers or

tigers 2

oxford 1

When this was first announced, I thought it did seem a bit odd to make our charity partner an organisation that the club would normally fund anyway, but they do decent work and i don't really think it's a big deal.

Neither do I think having Tigers on the scoreboard is a big deal, at least it wouldn't be if they got rid of all the utterly stupid Hull Tigers social media ****.

Reverse The Rebrand.

Reclaim The Tigers.

Don't know, but let's be clear that it is obvious that the only reason Assem Allam put the £40 million (or whatever that initial investment was) into Hul City, was because he thought he would get the stadium etc for nothing. The bloke has only ever been out for himself and his family.
The charity donations he has made in the city are the very minimum someone such as himself, that has taken so much labour etc out of the local economy for personal profit, has to give.

You don't half post some ****e.

The Tigers trust really do some amazing stuff, mostly at grass roots. My lad got to take 5 penalties (he scored all 5 <whistle>) against Roary the Tiger. Now he's hooked on football - it's all he wants to do most days. They've been to his school and his football club - and this is how they grow the supporter base locally.
