He had to move to London to do it? Even back then the locals didn't like change? <laugh>

Omega makes some good points tbh. It was always meant to show support for the team.

By the sounds of it PMS would also support one with HKR and FC on it to celebrate our fair city's biggest teams that share a common bond from the distant past.

Except Hull City play the game he wrote the first set of rules for, just like every other association football club. No other football club can claim he was born in their city/town/village except us.

Apart from the numerous other football clubs based in Hull obviously.

Our registered team name is Hull City AFC, so should the flag have the teams name on it?

There's no option for that.

Celebrating an existing player or legend that's played for The Tigers was my preference.

Same way this flag does. It even managed to get on the hullcitytigers.com web page:

At least Cobb Morley had something to do with football.

So the BPL logo does not have anything to do with football? Flags and banners have all different messages. Show support for the team, bring your flags is different to lets produce a flag to show support for the team isnt it? In the first any old flag would do, but what of the second?

Cobb Morley is a terrible idea btw might as well have a flag of Bob Marley , he's got no connection to Hull City either

It has the same to do with football as Cobb Morley, but nothing to do with Hull City as we weren't founding members.

Are you saying the Land of Green Ginger flag doesn't show support for the team?

The same facility as before can be made available for collecting the money.

Cheers, that's very helpful. <ok>

When the dust has settled a tad, I'll sound out the board to see if people are interested. There's certainly a fair amount of people in support of various flags, so there's an opportunity to please many.

I would say it is more of a celebration flag than supportive. Its the same as a flag that has FA cup finalists on it. As has been pointed out the poll will decide and I have voiced my opinion.

As I see it, the players and the manager will get some uplift out of the Steve Bruce banner and that is what I thought the objective was. Just what message they would get from a Cobb Morley banner, I cannot figure out.

Just because someone who did something with their life happened to come from Hull is irrelevant. It should be someone connected with the club.
In fact, it should be a big fat picture of Mr Bruce to show him that we want him here for the long term.
Solidarity.
