Not who he is, but who they have made up their minds he is, plus their inability to show any sort of understanding of the realities of where the club is, and the problems that were bound to be faced by anyone occupying the manager's seat.
There is no question it was always likely to be a very hard job to take over, from a guy who was worshiped for all he did in 3 short years (nothing short of a miracle). Maybe CH is the right man, just at the wrong time, but I have to confess I struggled to think of anyone else at the time of the appointment.
