I wonder how the players who came to Norwich because of Hughton are feeling? I can imagine RVW and Fer would be over the moon at the thought of Pulis arriving.

I'm not sure why people have a problem with that style, I would take finishing comfortably each season and boring football any day.

I genuinely wouldn't even if it was 100% secured. Even with european football, cup final etc. stoke fans still hated him and his style. Not sure we can understand the monotony of it until we endure the time wasting fouling week in week out. There's more to life than the premier league and that is not worth it.

I was indeed one them, and have been critical of CH since February. We were awful for 5 months at the end of last season, and got a break with the last 2 games of the season to leapfrog the pack. That effectively shows that 11th place was not actually a great achievement, as we were starring at the possibility of going down in mid-April.

The style has changed recently, but results are still not forthcoming, which then leaves few choices. More of the same or revert back to playing to survive. I don't mind who is in charge, if we are picking up 3 points at home, against the majority of opponents outside the top 6.

they only hated pulis at the end, after being in the premier league for what 5 seasons. even then he tried to change their style, last season, and it didn't work.

I'd have to disagree, attendances were dwindling way before then, highlighted by their european games not even selling out. There was massive out cry from lots of fans when pulls broke the stoke wage structure for peter crouch and only the pressure from fans over a few seasons after season ticket sales were expected to fall resulting in 5 seasons worth of publicity stunt price freezes. Harmony in the stoke fan camp was gone long before pulis was eventually sacked. And i don't blame them imagine watching games like they had to actually being attached to the team, having the smallest dimension pitch available, goalkeeper taking a minute per goal kick, hoofing aimless balls, diving for free kicks. Its horrific football that I think we could only hate once we had it and experienced the multi layered disgracefulness of it.

well its purely conjecture on my behalf. pulis may never feature in the frame, but i do think he would be right near the top of any potential list. never been relegated either.

I seem to recall the pitch magically used to get smaller if / when Rory Delap played, so his long throws became more effective. You could actually still see the original white lines they'd removed from the previous match <yikes>

    Not for NCFC, pretty please??

Pretty much what I said on one of the other threads - our midfield players MUST look to see if there is a better option than shooting from outside the box!!!!

This is a crisis caused quite simply by the failure of a section of our "wonderful" support to actually support the team and the board. Hubris is the word that springs to mind (though drawing any sort of analogy betwen this idiocy and Greek tragedy is a gross injustice to the latter). I really hope that DM and his fellow board members stick to their guns. <ok>

You see the more this debate goes on, the more you feel inclined to give CH a little longer and hope that it comes good. Pulis and the type of football that he encourages does not fit in with the traditional Norwich way and would be purely a measure to keep us up at best. How that would affect the players is another matter but ultimately it is also the players themselves that need to take a hell of a lot of responsibility for what has happened. This has been a desperate time.

and what is the cause of that Robbie? Are you suggesting a section of the support have simply decided to not support CH, because of who he is? That may not what you had in mind, but that is how I am reading it.

I can't speak for Robbie so can't say for certain that this is what he means, however I'm sorry to say that what you have alluded to is a feeling that I get from certain parts of our fanbase and have done pretty much from the Fulham game last season.

Seriously? Has there been a section of the fan base that have not given their support at any time? If that is the case, then that is indeed incredibly sad, not to mention quite unbelievable.

If that is indeed what he meant it would not be too unfair. But not just because of who he is.

Not who he is, but who they have made up their minds he is, plus their inability to show any sort of understanding of the realities of where the club is, and the problems that were bound to be faced by anyone occupying the manager's seat. <ok>
