to be honest, i think qpr will improve on last season. i mean, they won't be challenging for honours or anything like that but i think they will keep their heads above water quite easily. with their new signings, i reckon they are getting close, maybe even equal, to our level last season, so that shows how well we did last season. we still have time to improve ourselves.

I agree with Supers - I think Rangers will have a better season this year and should sit in a comfortable mid-table position. Their signings are of reasonable quality and the squad is showing a better mix than last season. Green was a top keeper for us (in my top five City keepers of all time) and will do well for QPR.

We've done no new business yet ourselves but getting Rusty, Surman, Ruddy, Smith and hopefully Hoolahoops to sign extensions says all the right things about the way Hughton goes about his business. Just need to sort out the Holty situation one way or t'other and then get some quality new signings in to strengthen the squad and we'll be alright.

Nice to see a reasonably sensible post from a QPR fan, although i'm unsure how you can make that comment about us when we haven't done any business in the transfer market yet? <laugh> Perhaps might be worth holding on to that comment until you know who our players are likely to be? <ok>

Hi Rich, I make that comment based upon the loss of Lambert and the increase in quality/competition in the division itself. Lambert was top quality, and whilst your new boss is good and will keep you up, I don't think he is as good as Lambert and even if he is, he will need a season to settle into the job. As I said, I think the teams that came up are better than the teams that went down, and I think other teams (such as my beloved QPR) are improving and we, for example, may not give you 6 points next year. (I think we'll sneak a draw at home, but still lose at your place for the record!) Reading are throwing their weight around too, and don't look like easy pickings. I hope you feel those comments are not unfair and are indeed based on evidence. If your signings improve your team, my opinion will change accordingly of course.

I'm glad to see that the thread has descended into sensibility. Very strange for a thread between our two clubs?!

agree although i don't understand your comment about a manger needing a season to settle in. most managers are sacked by then!! <laugh> hughton was easily the best manager we could get to stabilise the situation which could have got a bit messy when lambert left. as it stands i doubt we will improve on last season but neither do i understand some opposing fans suggesting we are severely weakened by the loss of lambert. as with most of the teams in this league, we'll finish anywhere between 7th and 20th.
