Hi Guys,
I am not sure if I will get in trouble for posting this, but I am afraid Not606 is in financial difficulties and there is danger it may close down completely. The main problem seems to have been that it overspent wildly on the contracts given to some of best posters and then spent the money which should have been passed on to the taxman and now HMRC are after the site. They particularly objected to the fact that the special "electronic media" rules meant that message debt takes precedence over all other, except the huge fees paid to the mods..
There has been work going on behind the scenes to find a buyer, but so far none has made a real offer to buy. There is a small hurdle before anyone can own the site, but this is a minor spelling test and nobody checks the answers anyway.
So, with no other rescue in sight, will you help save the site we love? I am forming a trust. If we stump up £1000 each, 5000 of us is all that would be needed. I have asked my friend Colin Ash to be treasurer so make your cheques payable to C ASH and together we can save this great and historic board.
