In terms of greatest American player ever, I'd go with Landon Donavon, with Dempsey a close second. As for greatest to play in the premier league it would have to be Dempsey or Freidel.

    My opinion anyways.

For a combined total of 5 months, Dempsey has been in the premier league for 5 years. I think the fact Dempsey has been consistently performing in the premier league carries more weight than Landon's loan moves. If I were the USA manager Landon would be my first pick on the team sheet.

what not even with a mighty Spurs top on?

the odd handball is like the odd bit of diving nowadays surely by Messi.

Messi uses the culture of modern football Maradonna did not, plus scoring a 'goal' with your hand in a World Cup QF is a more significant act than a dive I think. In other words cheating has become part of the modern game, sadly, Maradonna's success in cheating may have had a little to do with that.

    So it's Pele then. <ok>

Wait, wait, wait...Maradona didn't score one of the best goals in the World Cup finals?

Pele wasn't as squeaky clean as people make out - he just didn't cheat against England, so the English press haven't spend decades banging on about it whilst the rest of the world couldn't give a mile high club.

I'm convinced that Huddlestone's game will improve if he dyes the fro blond and grows a dubious tache.

So in other words bring back the Seventies. <laugh> Well we did have maybe our best English side in the early part of that decade. Sideburns, and bell bottom shorts. As for the boots!
