    Not in your mind, no.
Let's see how he actually does though, rather than basing his performances on the opinion of someone that makes completely inappropriate comparisons, eh?

And, I repeat, the season isn't over so there is no point in doing so. Remember the time Newcastle had a 16 point lead over Man Utd with three months to go? Remind me how that one worked out...

Not sure but if that was to happen then you having a running total would be to your benefit wouldn't it? Show how right you were.

Who needs a running total when it'll say that you've been homeless for the first three weeks of the season?

See, that's why having a running total is a waste of time.

I don't think Drogba will go to Liverpool for the following reasons.

    1) He wouldn't want to ruin his reputation with Chelsea fans
    2) Liverpool's transfer policy is to sign players under 27.
    3) Liverpool can't pay Drogba £250,000 a week

Also he hasn't been released by his club yet so they would have to wait until January.

Dempsey is overrated but he's not as bad as CPofL is saying. He reads the game far better than Heskey for starters

Who is he overrated by? It took the press until April to even realise he was having a good season and he was sold for £6mill. He must be truly terrible if you think that's overrated.

Different people have different interpretations I guess but I've heard the press say things like "Best American player of all time", "Best American import in the PL ever" which I'm not sure I agree with. That said the comparison with Heskey is ridiculous because Clint plays with a lot of intelligence and is a good footballer. Good enough to improve a side like Spurs? I'm not sure personally. Time will tell

Fair enough, I've never seen him described as that but he's a good player and can at very least add depth to our squad. We'll have to wait and see whether he is able to be as influencial for a side with bigger names in it.

In order to help, and because i couldn't come up with any myself i have even done some googling for you:
    http://www.whoateallthepies.tv/lists/118888/top-10-americans-to-play-in-the-premier-league.html

    http://www.shaggybevo.com/board/showthread.php/110530-Greatest-American-soccer-player-of-all-time

To be honest, he's not really up against that much unless you think its Brad Friedel? Or are there other great american players that these lists have completely missed? Alexi Lalas maybe? Roy Wegerle?

So the consensus between Americans seems to be Friedel or Dempsey, then?
    Sounds fair!

lol....hes better than Oscar the lightweight...another overated Brazilian...it was either him or Hulk ..either way chelsea were gagging to throw money away again.

ill take Dempsey... for 6 million..scored umpteen goals for fulham..you dont do that if your ****..does not matter who you play for..the opposition is always the same.....nit picking.....tedious chelsea fans.

I know he wasn't here for very long, but Landon Donovan looked pretty useful.
