Great signing Doherty on the face of things. Looks solid, bags of energy, good attacking end product and hes been bought at a bargain price of 15m.

The only caveat is that hes been playing as a wingback for wolves this whole time and it will be interesting to see how he fairs as a rb

He will play like Aurier did for us...very much like a wingback. Lots of people saying this about him being utilised as a sitting fullback...he won't be...nor was Aurier. As **** as he is...he was one of our main out balls and often found himself in very good attacking positions with plenty space ahead of him...he just got no brains.

Funny how every signing Liverpool make they start making out like United are interested in him at the last minute, little ****ty snippets of transfer news dropped into the media by the Kopshites so they can say they beat us to him.

If United wanted Thiago he’d be a United player by now, he begged us to sign him last time before he joined Bayern.

Shut up knobhead.

not with Ed the transfer guru

La Liga says Messi's release fee still applies.

Whether it should apply or not, IMO it should at least reduce over the length of the contract just like clubs do with the amortisation of transfer fees. Nonsense that Messi is worth €700m on June 10th and €0 on June 11th.

Like La Liga will have any say in the matter.

"In compliance with the applicable rule, La Liga will not approve a request to be de-registered as a player with the Spanish football federation, unless the amount in the release clause has been paid," the body said in a statement.

Messi doesn't have to play for Barcelona (and can't since he skipped the covid test), but he can't play for anyone else if La Liga don't approve.

If there’s a legal dispute over a contract of employment, it’s got nothing to do with them.

Of course they’re going to back their member club and their cash cow. <doh>

La Liga would definitely suffer, the new promotion campaigns would be Griezmann vs Hazard or something

Makes no odds, as he was never going to be allowed to sign for anyone until this dispute is settled in court. As if he’s deadly serious about leaving, that’s what he’s going to have to do.

Well he could sign for somebody for free on January 1st on a pre-contract so Barca better play ball with the lad or their asset is going to depreciate at a rate of about £40m per week. <laugh>

****, soon as it gets to this complicated stuff I zone out.

Let the little **** stay where he is, reputation is gonna take a spanking like.

Barca signing Wijnaldum apparently and Klopp needs the funds to sign Thiago, but Barca in a mess over Messi so not committing to any signings yet.

Liverpool are ****ing pathetic <laugh>
