Pierre and Stewart are the most pressing before a bigger side comes in with offers.

Stewart might stay after the problems he had at Crewe he hopefully will think twice before leaving

You can add Bloomers to that 2018 list.
Had a good season until, his injury. I thought it may have been his last, but pleased he was offered an extension as his performances merited it.
The centre back partnership going forward is a concern as much of our relative success over the past couple of years has been built on a solid defence.
Ainsworth is no fool, so I am sure he has plans afoot

    Good news about Blooms.

Are you thinking what we have (muller and the other dude) are not good enough?

WDH and Muller have both looked decidedly dodgy at times and aren't a patch on Stewart and Pierre (at the moment). I quite like Muller as he has some ability with it on the ground, but his positioning was suspect on a few occasions. Maybe it s a training thing or experience - not sure. De Havilland is a bit more of a journeyman for me and may potentially always be "just ok"
    Hope I am proved wrong

Pleased Thompson has gone as he offered bugger all but i'd have given Woody another season, good news about Stewart staying i just hope Pierre will continue their brilliant partnership at the heart of defence.

I would give Pierre a longish contract (with the promise to let him go if he wanted to move to a bigger club). That way we will get money for him if he goes. Otherwise I believe he is on a free transfer?

Sad to see sammy wood go, always offered a lot to the team and some real wondergoals. Unfortunatly a lot of fans got on his back last season and the beginning of this one, hugely unfairly. Also a shame not to see him on the lap of honour at the end of the season, would have been nice to show our appreciation for him. His game away at torquay has to go down as one of the best performances by a single player, at the moment we most needed it!

As for thommo its definatly the correct decision - dont think his legs were up to it anymore. Will be best remembered for the barnet away game (his first for us i think) and of course that goal at spurs, the moment where i genuinley thought we would beat spurs at the lane!

Of the players retained im delighted stewart has signed, but i doubt pierre will follow. Freedman is a gamble worth taking, and bloomfield and bayo were always worth new deals and delighted to see them sign!

Fair shout Ron as money for him will be welcome so we can bring a central defender in on loan hopefully someone as good as Mawson.

Just read a post on another forum that Wycombe have told Cheltenham that Scott Brown is not for sale, must mean that Blackman isn't coming back next season. :( I'll be peed off if he joins another League 2 side after hinting he wanted to play for us again.

Blackman wont go to another league 2 side - if he was to go to league 2 he would stay with us, but more likely he will go to a league 1/chmapionship club

Brown is an excellent league 2 keeper from what weve seen, so not a bad one to have on our books

Squad update. No news just consolidating what we know

    Contracted until summer 2018
    Max Muller
Scott Brown on loan at Cheltenham during 2016/17 season (not for sale)
    Will De Havilland
    Sido Jombati
    Joe Jacobson
Danny Rowe on loan at Barrow
    Paul Hayes
    Dayle Southwell
    Sam Saunders
    Anthony Stewart
    Nick Freeman
    Adebayo Akinfenwa
    Matt Bloomfield

    Contracted until summer 2019
    Dominic Gape
    Luke O'Nien
    Michael Harriman
    Scott Kashket
    Paris Cowan-Hall

    Manager- Gareth Ainsworth
    Goalkeeping Coach- Barry Richardson

So we have 18 players under contract with Bean and Pierre still to decide

Maybe Gaz won't be signing any new players and just top up with some class loanees from London Premier clubs

Pierre not yet signing a new contract is the most worrying thing. Such a talent and will be sorely missed if he leaves

Based on these players my team would be,

    Brown,
    Harriman, Stewart, MM, JJ
    O'Nien, Saunders, Gape
    PCH, Beast, Kashket

Bench- Richardson, Jombati, WDH, Blooms, Freeman, Hayes, Southwell
    Which leaves Rowe.
Not a bad 11 but any injuries and we are struggling.

I suspect any potential weaknesses will be covered with loans. However, I reckon the loans would be very good and therefore possibly displace some of those above

Sometimes the loan works very well Blackman for one the striker from Watford last season a waste of money

We've now lost westy which is a huge loss unfortunately, he should have been playing a huge part in the team this season. Im expecting to see a couple of signings this week ahead of the first friendlys anyway!
