I've always found the fact that he didn't ever look like joining a Premier League side strange.

He's the Scottish Yakubu. Does nothing all game but pops up the a goal every now and then. A bit of a luxury player.

Then again, didn't Gestede outscore him in one season for Blackburn? Perhaps that says it all.

I dont think Gestede is that bad at all and I'd welcome him here. He'd offer us something very different from the bench when desperate for a goal.

Selling him how they did was one of the best transfers in history, I cant believe they're about to undo all their good work. Conte must think he can make him into a competent defender or be planning to switch to his favoured 3 man central defence.

Still good news for all those teams, like us, who are yet to play them this season.
 
We have agreed a £38.5M deal to sign Adrien Silva from Sporting Lisbon and Islam Slimani's transfer fee has been dropped to £15M

Sporting owe Slimani's 3rd party owner 20% so were overpaying for Silva so they don't have to pay his owners as much

In April 2015, FIFA announced the banning of third-party ownership, and specifically prohibited either clubs or players from entering into economic rights agreements with third-party investors. The ban took effect on 1 May 2015.
