I don't think it was. Someone on here said they had "Heard" that was the budget, and it has grown legs from there. Nobody of any consequence has confirmed that figure. It's just made up. Might be a lot lower.

It was Burnsy who said it and bearing in mind the discussion we were having earlier and where his info comes from, I wouldn't dismiss it.
 
£18m can go a long way, generally transfers are financed over the term of the contract, or this is how the club were doing deals? So, does the £18m include the full fee, or just the initial 'deposit' if you like?

You jest I hope. Bruce said £18 million was not a competitive sum for the PL. Any lower we might as well stay in the Championship this season
 
Not a rumour, but just been having a flick through the current list of free agents aka Brucie's shopping list, noticed Arbeloa is available on a bosman.
That a tad unrealistic?

You do realize of course that this could be said about literally ever single person on a free? Hell I would be a decent signing on a free if we could get one good year from me. There is just as much chance that you will get one good year out of Odemwingie as you will with me.
 
It is grim isn't it when at present we have been linked with Peter odemwingie who was on loan at Bristol city last season!!! And also Robson Kanu who for some bizarre reason everyone thinks because he had a couple of decent games at the euros is now a premier league striker! This is the same Robson Kanu who last season in the championship played 28 times for reading and scored 3 times! This is the first premier league season where I really do fear for us!

Again, it's because it's a new face and people really want a signing that people are looking at Odemwingie and desperately trying to make the best of it.

It could be that he's just here for fitness reasons, I wouldn't have thought he's seriously here because we are taking a look at him.

I seriously hope he isn't he 'exciting opportunity' SB mentioned at Ferriby.

Thanks. Was this reportedly said before the takeover talks stalled and our injuries to McGregor, Bruce and Odjubajo? If so, I think that the situation may well have changed markedly.
 
I thought SB wanted certain guarantees before he committed his future to the club.
I can only imagine that (after being refused LeFondre) his demands were that he is allowed to buy some players.
I cant imagine that he will be happy with only being allowed to take frees and other chumpionship rejects.
