Option is in our favour. We will trigger it if we haven't already done so.I don't think so; I believe he has 12 months left with an option for a further year. Originally signed for 3years with a 1 year option.

We've also got the option to extend Livermore and Maguires deal a further year as well. Possibly Hernandez also

I agree. The option to trigger the 12 month extension will have conditions attached which won't materialise until next Summer! Secondly what the hell would triggering it achieve anyway? It simply means come next Summer City will have to sell then to avoid losing him for nothing come Summer 2018!
In summary, we should be looking to enter negotiations with Abel and his agent right now and see if we can tie him down to a longer contract. A buy out clause at £xm (current value +++) would give protection to the club of a valuable asset, and equally gives the player a likely improved deal by comparison to what they are currently on, and knowledge to his agent that if someone is wiling to pay £xm, the club can't stand in his way and would accept the bid, and in doing so pocket more cash than otherwise it would likely receive. Good strikers are expensive, Abel is settled, and we should be 'tieing him down' to alonger contract in the immediate future. Just a personal opinion.
Carnt be true Bruce said he would want assurances that we could be competitive before commiting to stay. £18m doesn't give him them assurancesWell, Burns tweeting that Bruce has £18m in transfer fees as his budget, plus whatever he generates from sales. That's pretty much 2 good proven players.
Tend to agree £18 m, doesn't get you much in the Pl.Carnt be true Bruce said he would want assurances that we could be competitive before commiting to stay. £18m doesn't give him them assurances
Where did you get that info from. If that is true it is a ****e amount for a transfer budget in the PL. As a minimum it should twice that. The way fees have gone recently we will be lucky to get a half decent striker. Shows the contempt the Allams now have for the club.ALLAMS OUT NOW.Well, Burns tweeting that Bruce has £18m in transfer fees as his budget, plus whatever he generates from sales. "Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."
Got a feeling that we are going to cash in on at least one of our asset(Robbo), also got a feeling that papa and jnr are going nowhere until the season after next when by that time they will have clawed back all there dosh and then they will be gone
And yet people still advocate signing Chester and Brady...
Yeah stupid pricks! Fancy signing a player that used to play for us, Windass was another stupid example of that.
I didn't say a club should never re-sign a player. The point is we didn't get relegated with Windass, sell him, then get promoted back to that division and sign him again.
18m is that it?
long hard season ahead if that's true
Very unambitious transfer budget
Potential income of 182m if we finish bottom next year and depending on sponserships deals etc averaging things out looking at 182m, and we've got 18m for transfer fees Wowza!!!!!
Is the rest going towards a new stadium or something? Or allams back pocket
