That was the punchline to a classic joke of about 55 years ago, about the Master of Wit and Repartee going to a circus. Still makes me laugh today.
It is, without doubt, my all-time favourite joke. I still tell it with tears of mirth rolling down my cheeks, after all these years.
The only joke that even comes close is a knock-knock joke about an interrupting cow.
He scored one of the best goals I saw at the KC Green, unfortunately it was only against Leigh RMI in the Autoglass vans or something if I remember rightly, actually scratch that think it was against Morecambe. One of the two.

Naturally, I was taking the piss, but thinking back, for a ‘friendly’ tournament, whilst I obviously accept it didn't carry prestige, Le Tournoi was actually pretty good and I'd suggest 'heavyweight'.
You used to get those sort of things back then (I remember an American equivalent pre 94 with us, them, Brazil and Germany). Didn’t we have some sort of mini tournament in 1995 too? These warm up tournaments seem to have been made obsolete by the Confederations Cup.
Anyway, we had some good games in Le Tournoi:
Beat Italy 2-0
Beat France 1-0
Lost to Brazil 1-0.
Plus, you had that free kick: Brazil v France.
I remember being in Bass House and everyone in there literally* just shat their pants as it went in

Tbh, from what I remember about drinking in Bass House, for some people it was literally.
Does anyone else think Powell will be going to Portugal to try and prove his fitness? With Bruce staying I would have thought he would be given a chance?
