Rubbish. I will help you out then as You obviously were asleep during euro 96 and the WC in 98.

The 70's were dire and the 80's hit and miss. However the 90's were as good as it has been since 66.

However, since 2000 England have nose dived quicker than the "Titanic".

Oh dear. The cup wins in '96 and '98 must have passed me by. Oh wait, we didn't win. Therefore my point stands.

Countries of similar size with probably less money for international facilities have been far more successful than we have.

Any english player would be utterly mad to sign for a Mourinho team, he must have one of the worst records in PL history for signing or even just using English players. Lampard and Terry aside, who were already there and established, it's foreigners all the way. Will Hughes'd be nuts to go there, but if they're interested money talks and careers stall. Fingers crossed WH reads my comments and comes to City instead.

Are you mental? Do you think Germany or Italy would class the semis or quarters as a success? They've reached so many international semi finals between them that they won't remember them all. We've reached 3, and 2 of them were on home ****ing soil!!

I think this is part of the problem, we see semis as a success and aim for that and when reach it we're satisfied, whereas other countries wouldn't bat an eyelid at that.

Gary Cahill and Ashley Cole?

Not at all. It is mental for anyone to expect an England side to win anything ever again. Well certainly not the way we are going. So any repeat of euro 96 or WC 98 is a success.

England has a massive problem. We don't have any talent of quality just a bunch of highly paid players of above average ability. They look better than they really are as they play for PL club teams with quality foreigners. Some who are world class.

Factor in above average talented players who are mentally weak and no wonder we fail all the time now.

What is mental is the cash that Raheem Stirling gets paid.

You can also figure out why so many England players are wanted in the top leagues abroad ? Exactly.

Other than the back 4 - including keeper - none of the Italy team would get in our starting XI. Only 2 of the Wales team would have a chance of getting in our XI. None of the Iceland team would. Yet all 3 were much better than us this tournament.

It's not because of talent, or there lack of.

Sadly it is. However what they lack more of is mental toughness. The Iceland game will not be forgotten anytime soon by anyone.

What how dare you criticise our best midfielder in recent memory.

I suppose you reckon Ash could play football too !!!

Stuart Green the best in recent history? <laugh> He was alright, but certainly not the best & certainty did more sulking than playing to his ability, which only occasionally he showed!
As for Ash, he was a player of a different style, a leader, which is what we need now.

I don't think he's being entirely serious on either front...

I thought greenie was decent at the level we played at, had he done less sulking and running back to Carlisle he could have done ok

We won Le Tournoi in 1997 – he must be referencing that.

And people forget how many times we won the Rous Cup – ****ing precious Wales never even qualified for that.
