That's how much good players cost nowadaysIf we signed Gestede we'd be relegated. Liverpool tried to get Hughes last season before injury and the bidding went north of £10m.

Our last season in the Premier League Hudd did'nt look anything like what we needed. On Sone Aluko you look into the whites of his eyes and ask him what ambitions he has for the future and move accordingly. I would also offer less than what he gets now. Whatever it is.
As for Elmo and Hudds they are proven PL players. Yes both leaves you angry at times but Hudds especially is what we need for the PL. Class is permanant - form temporary.
Our main priroity has to be STRIKERS though.
Get Akinfenwa in. He pretty much said on national TV that he's now a FAT.
I've only just looked at this thread so apologies if I'm repeating anything, but do we need any wholesale changes? The squad we have got is a much better one that we had last time we got promoted. We've got Premier League quality in Defence (McGregor, Dawson, Davies, Bruce, Odjubadjo, Robertson) and Midfield (Huddlestone, Diame, Snodgrass, Elmo, Livermore) but (as usual!) we are very light up front. Hernandez is probably OK but needs Premier league support - which costs. It's difficult to attract players to Hull, but the likes of Lambert/Crouch should be considered. We probably need to add some pace in midfield - someone like Lennon or even Forestieri.
We need a solid goalkeeping option. Also cover for LB (no more of this playing Rb's at LB bullshit). A tough tackling midfielder would be welcome. Two strikers and I think we're golden. I make that 5. Peachy.
Charlie Adam
Good shout. I'd say Scott Brown at Celtic but he'd probably cost a lot.

Don't know of any real issue but can't see him choosing a team and manager where he wasn't given too much of a chance over one where he prospered.
Or Cattermole.
He's alright but it'd be nice to get somebody with ability as well as dynamism.
Struggling to think of enforcers who fit that description within our price range.
What is our price range?
I'd be offering 10m for Hughes with add-ons including a wad more if we stay up.
Are you forgetting about financial fair play? Even if we have the money to spend on someone like Will Hughes we can't spend it with impunity. Anyway, Derby would want far more than £10 million up front.
FFP in the PL only comes into effect if you're playing in Europe. Or do you think clubs like WBA have much higher revenue streams than us and can afford to spunk 8m on James Chester only to never play him?
