Frank...

That is exactly why a manager should be given time. The players deserve criticism too but the buck stops with the manager. He can't sell every player and buy a whole new squad overnight and therefore need three or four transfer windows at least.

Lets face facts, BR has got nothing in the cupboard! He paid £15 mil on Allen who has two directions, sideways or backwards. Borini I will grant was unlucky with injury. Assaidi has been no where to be seen and Sahin was misused and ****ed off. BR also dropped a bollock with not signing a striker last year when Carroll went. People will say BR couldn't do anything about that but that excuse doesn't wash with me.

Plan B doesn't always mean route 1, but Rogers doesn't have the nous to make the tactical change. We played great against Arsenal and City so why be grateful for draws? If we play that well I want to e winning!

So you are not willing to give Rodgers time? He has no previous big club experience (no offence Reading or Swansea) as a manager and has been on a steep learning curve for the last few months. Maybe he thought the likes of Borini, Allen, Assaidi and Sahin would be good enough for the club only to find the standard is much higher than he anticipated? I personally, don't believe that because he was at Chelsea as a coach so should know that level of quality neeeded but I would also say that writing these players off so soon is also harsh, especially with them all being under 24 years old (Assaidi turned 24 two days before joining)! None of us know the reasons or goings on behind the scenes regarding Carroll and Dempsey etc either.

I am not saying BR is the right man for the job, nor am I saying he isn't, what I am saying is he is here! Whether he has earn't the right or not, he should be treated with respect and given the time to get things right.

Great, lets set up a school for unproven managers shall we. Jeez, if he's not up for the job and so far I've seen nothing to convince me he is, why the hell is he here?

I'm all for giving the guy time but he doesn't seem to know/want to change tacks when it's going wrong and I for one am not happy for him to be given learning time, if the lesson isn't going to sink in!

We appear to be getting screwed over by the yanks pulling money in from commercial revenue that doesn't seem to be getting pumped into the club and they've employed what looks to be their 'yes' men in Rogers and Eyre.

If he's willing to learn the lesson fine give him a bit longer but if he's gonna keep giving the old shoulder shrugging symbol when his tactics aren't working, he can shut the door on his way out

I agree with your last sentence and I'd be lying if I said some of his decision have not concerned me, hence my comment regarding Henderson earlier tonight (can't remember which thread it was on).

However, as I said, he is our manager and he is here to stay. We are not the club we once were, we are not number one in Europe anymore, we are not a top four club anymore and we are not in a position to get the best players and managers anymore. Rodgers should be given time so long as improvement / developments can be seen. Remember that just twenty-six hours ago we was getting praise left right and centre after getting two draws in two very good team performances against sides that are clearly better than us. We have a young manager and we have a lot of young players, inconsistency is going to be part of the learning curve. And whether you like it or not, we are learning!

In the strangest occurrence in years, I find my sky 4 mates all saying they see the progress and improvement

And normally they take the piss

we made a mistake sacking Kenny in similar circumstances. outplaying sides yet still dropping points unnecessarily.

you give that time. in the short term the outplaying sides is the important bit as it means the quality and system is there.

Even with the troubles, do we chop it up and start all over..... again??

I think the only reason you do that right now is for a Klopp, Mourinho, Hiddink type of coach. Doubt those will want to even look at us right now.

I realise everyone is learning but it frustrates the bejesus out of me to watch Rogers on the sidelines 'shrugging his shoulders' for 3 mil a year I could do that!

And like I said, I won't praise him for two draws when we were in such a dominant attitude. Poor sub situational decisions against Arsenal cost us the full points and that is down to the manager! You can sugar coat it however you like but he cost us that game!

still in shock from the shower of ****e i witnessed the other day, but some comments on here are a bit odd.

Rodgers was brought in for the LONG TERM, most of us knew we would be struggling this season with a new system, it was always a case of when it clicks, so why are we now questioning it when we haven't even has a season yet.

season hasn't finished yet, there is still a poss we can finish 6th , it is still an improvement on last season, unlikely but we could even do better than that.

i wanted to see improvement this season, which we have, results might not have gone our way sometimes but the football is good and entertaining.

if we are going to give Henderson and Downing a season to settle, why are we not with Allen,Borini and Rodgers?

i am not convinced by them either (Allen and Borini) but they look no dif to me from Henderson and Downing first season and they have improved this season.

Well we could always go back to Rafa if you want some emotion on the touchline <laugh>

He didn't cost us the Arsenal game with substitutions, defensive lapses cost us. Whether that's down to individuals or because of the formation etc is open to debate obviously. It's fair enough not to praise him for two draws away if you feel they were bad results but wasn't our dominant attitude down to good tactics? Just a thought...

The simple facts are that our league position is not good enough. IMO though that's BECAUSE we've had no continuity at the club for years now. Its this continual conveyor belt of managers which has got us here in the first place.

As Billy says, you can can criticise Rodgers for not getting the three points against Arsenal and Man City after such dominating performances however, surely he initially deserves the credit for those performances? You clearly have a dislike for Rodgers IMO <ok>

And just for the record, I'm not sugar coating anything. I am not convinced by him but I am willing to give him a chance. Whilst he is our manager he will get my backing. Surely it is better to look at the positives rather then dig yourself into a bigger depression?

At the end of the day we all have our opinions mate and that's fine, not one of us can be certain whether BR will turn out good or bad. Like yourself I am not convinced he will take us anywhere but I will give him my backing for the same reasons I gave Kenny my backing. He IS our manager. Ripping it all up and starting again (again) makes no sense to me whatsoever.

Basically if you can't give Rodgers your support this early on then you are supporting the wrong team. Suck it up and get behind LFC - you are embarrassing.

I understand peoples frustrations, we are a million miles from where we all want to be. However anyone who lays the blame for that squarely at Rodgers door simply hasn't grasped the almighty **** ups that have been happening at LFC for two decades <ok>

or just recently.

Gerrard misses penalty, team misses chances and keeper makes some blinding saves.
Defenders make a balls of bread and butter defending.

Certainly not BRs fault other than selecting those players to play.

For me Agger has lost his place in the squad, he makes the whole back line nervous on any even remotely dangerous ball into the box

To be fair we were all creaming over the way we played against City and Arsenal. We played poor but still dominated WBA, we could have easily beat them 2/3-0 on any other day. They did well to keep the ball out and our pressure high up the pitch undid us. We are still going in the right direction, just need a little more consistency. Not many other mid-table Clubs force other teams to dig so deep.

pretty much.

But, I will say, those particular defensive weaknesses don't look like they've been addressed at all.

Lucas provides infinitely more cover for them but corners and free kicks always leave me thinking we could concede here.

That blog is pretty much how it should be and shows the modern day voice that EVERYONE has! It's a bit like publicity, you could have a ninety-nine people giving positive publicity but that one negative will be the one that shines through <ok>

You make me laugh, get good results against Arsenal and Man City "4th here we come", lose after being all over West Brom really and this team is the worst team ever.

Rodgers said they would be up and downs this season but what he shouldn't have said we can get 4th after some good results, he should have sugar coated it a bit more like "if we get 4th great but this season is the building blocks, next season is when we want to push on and target the top 4.
