It's great we have three really good goalkeepers, a lot of teams would kill to be in our position! I think Krul deserves to start the season as first choice, he's only going to get better with time on the pitch.

Krul is our best keeper! Everyone has bad games, Harper against Stoke was one the worst goalkeeping performances i've ever seen. He is now an international. He is a better keeper than Harper and is improving all the time. He was basically our number one last season anyway.

Couldnt disagree more i think harper is a better all round keeper krul has better reaction and can make better saves but hes not as good at crosses and he cant keep hold of the ball he feels the need to parry evey shot and sometimes has poor positioning. Harper for me is a safer better as hes solid but unspectacular. I think krul has potential but hes a slow developer, rember when we first saw him 5 or more years ago? We thought he would easily of cemented his place at no1 but he hasnt. Maybe he just needs a run of games like he did at the end of last season.

Spot on. The question is basically would you rather have a keeper that makes it so he doesn't have to make a save (but when is called upon isn't great) or one that makes it so he has lots to do (but can save more). For me it's the first every time

I would rather hve a player that is only going to get better the more he plays, than a player that is pass his best and on the way down

Once Krul improves his decision making he'll be the undoubted first choice. At the moment his instinctive shot stopping is brilliant. However when he has a bit of time to make a decision he's not so good e.g. running into a crowd of players flapping at a cross. The only way to improve this is by giving him games (or stop conceding stupid free kicks within crossing distance of the box).

I disagree with the "but Forster isn't an International!" argument. Not to suggest he should be at this point (nor to take away from Krul earning himself a spot with Holland), but even if he was a world beater, Cabbage still wouldn't know he existed, let alone cap him.

...I just wanted another opportunity to bitch about the keepers getting International duty for England these days, it's ridiculous who Fabio's been picking...WBA's second choice keeper? Really?!

Second choice keeper for a third rate manager.

Why don't we play 6 year olds then? <doh>

What a stupid comment!

Play our 23 year old over our 36 year old when they are roughly the same level. As Krul has bags of potential whereas Harper is getting worse and you can't teach an old dog new tricks.

Nobody is suggesting playing our under 7's.

It was obviously a stupid comment. The point I was making is that just because someone has 'potential' doesn't mean you have to play them. Harper has played for 18 years and is a better keeper than Krul, at the moment. Harper gives a confidence and on average lets in about a goal a game, Krul let's in nearly two
