We gave the naughty step a couple of fresh coats of varnish while you were away. Should be dry by this evening Mind the splinters when you sit down though
Instead of deducting points from Portsmouth, the FL should be getting activery involved in ensuring that the club's financial structure is sound enough to see it through next season's fixtures and has a viable future. Granted that the deduction seems to be some sort of measure to force chanrai's hand, the point deduction will do nothing to improve the commercial viability of the club. All this achieves is putting off potential future investment and whilst I agree that the FL is correct to impose measures which safeguard the future of the club's financial viability, the reduction of points will only serve to have the opposite effect. I can't even be argued that the deduction is to redress any advantage Portsmouth had last season (after an earlier points deduction and struggling to acquire a proper squad ) or any supposed advantage in the next. Even as a Saints fan, this seems unreasonable and totally counter-productive. The measure seem spiteful and vindictive in my opinion. On a similar subject, I've been surprised that an olive branch hasn't been offered for Rangers Newco to joint one of the English football leagues.
Isn't this how most big businesses are run now. Take a massive payment say oh we cannot meet our contract obligations, oh well we will keep the cash and the tax payer can cover the rest - sound familiar...? 13 days until the McOlympics come to town...
