I was thinking that perhaps they are very close to signing two strikers and need to divert the finance from young CB to buying the strikers. I have a feeling we might be in for a surprise on the choice of strikers.:emoticon-0103-cool:

Now, I like the idea of moving Bassong on - I can drive him wherever!!! <laugh>

Slightly off topic but a colleague of mine's partner works for a cleaning firm and earlier this week cleaned Bassong's house. Bloody great place evidently he even has a massive Gym room with every single piece of equipment imaginable in it !

I quite like the sound of Onguene, it's a position where we lack a proper youngster, and I'd rather we had someone like him on the bench than Bassong or Turner. From Neil's comments though, the £2-3m he's likely to cost might be the difference between landing a striker target or not.

I fear this dragging on and we lose out on the player to someone who won't mess him around, or that we announce his signing on deadline day, effectively signally that we've ballsed up and won't be signing a striker.

If the window closes and we haven't signed at least one Striker then serious questions need to be asked, this Moxey fella has his feet well under the table now so he can have no excuses. I know most of us are getting concerned about the situation but even I a proverbial 'pant wetter' am keeping my powder dry for now :emoticon-0105-wink:

Mbokani was popular with fans and would be very effective in Championship but others may come calling? We thought Klose would be tempted away but that did not materialise so here's hoping..........The use of the plural for striker(s) suggests that he may not be the only one on the radar the wait may be worth it?

Mbokani would be ideal, he'd be easily a 20 a season striker and holds the ball up brilliantly allowing our exciting attacking midfield more time and space.

As we seem to ba talking about two strikers I'd then want a Defoe type striker with a real turn of pace that we could play when trying to get in behind organised teams with a high line.

Spot-on Bath. Mbokani could settle in immediately and hit the ground running. It now depends on whether any PL teams come in for him as that is where he'd like to be. If not, we're probably his best prospect in the Champs. Well done KIO for flagging this up.
