Why bring Onguene to Norwich if AN is not ready to sign him?

No striker yet, General. We're sifting through "about 500" candidates. It will take some time.

AN has stated that he wants strikers (plural) signed before money is spent elsewhere and that the Onguene link can wait until after that happens.

Unless the entire negotiating team is required for and on the cusp of signing some strikers why would we completely fall back on a deal that sounded like it might be close? He was visiting the club and it sounds like we are not alone in our pursuit of him. Do we want him or not? If we want him then putting it on the back burner will likely end with us losing out.
Strikers have to be the priority, but why did we even make contact in the first place if we can't/won't push on with signing him? Strange ways of doing business! Maybe we assumed we couldn't get him but he liked peanuts!

edit - Just seen Canary spring as asked just that in a rather more concise manner!

Bah!

Maybe we're waiting and hoping that Britt will have a paddy and hand in a transfer request as it becomes clearer and clearer that Forest won't be playing a part in the promotion race? better hope they don't beat Wigan on saturday!

Bah!

This was the AN quote I liked the best:

“Josh got his chance and then Sergi came on and they are not always going to play well, they are young boys and we have to understand that, but we have got to persevere with them,” said Neil. “Him and his brother have got huge potential. They have been floating on the periphery for quite a while at Norwich and this is hopefully going to be their breakthrough season. I know they are supporters of Norwich so if they want to play for their local club then performances have to be of a standard to get them into the team. I wanted that freshness and youth this season and with Sergi, James Maddison and Alex Pritchard we have a whole host of players capable of making an impact.”

This transfer window is becoming like a long drawn out game of musical chairs .

Christ, this is nothing - we've been after Ameobi since Rodent was in the house!!
How many years pursuit is that? <yikes>
Brady was similar, thanks to our derisory initial bids and Naismith's the same - though my jury is still well out on why the hell we bothered in the first place!

My only hope is getting a player that's pissed off their manager on loan when the PL squads get cut , we have the loan window to look forward too as well. :emoticon-0113-sleep

Did I miss the striker signing this morning then?????

He does sound like a decent prospect and maybe he can challenge Bennett to partner Timm. Another for the future rather than the now by the looks of it.

Bah!
