If this is true, what a signing, and Wenger finally spending the money he needs to on the position he's needed to for so many seasons. This player is one of the highest rated young CBs in world football. I'd love to see him in the Premiership.

yes I have too- chips were horrible the last time i went bland and tasteless - maybe they used suffolk spuds?? The times before they were OK, but not a patch on the fish n chips in Whitby.
I have also had fish n chips in Whitby (Though granted not in all of the chippies there) and they have not been as good as the hollowed Chip Inn. As for the spuds there is a degree of seasonality to how good/great they'll be, my favourites are during new potato season, yummy! But even their worst chips take a big greasy dump on most of the competition in my book!

Fulham apparently want Bassong, but only if it's on a free. Their manager was the one who took him on loan to Watford two seasons ago. Given Fulham's strong start, although poor squad, I'm not sure how I feel about that.
And Mbokani is apparently in Turkey to discuss a potential move to Besiktas.

Many of us have said it before, but if Fulham are interested I'd gladdly drive him down their myself. His wages would come in very handy for a player to develop the squad. Whilst a decent Champ CB I would be glad to watch that god awful highlights show on 5 to catch up with his latest gaffs.

Bassong is our only left-sided CB, though Klose is comfortable playing there. If we let him go, presumably to save wages, then we'd be left with Martin and Turner as back-up. Can't see it happening and do we really want to go light at CB into this season?
I'd have been very surprised if someone hadn't come in for Mbokani and can certainly see him going to Besiktas.

Oh and the Mbokani rumours of rejoining us always sounded unlikely. I'm not sure how much a club like Besiktas could pay him, but it's bound to be more than us in the championship.

I guess Bass does represent a low cost option as cover. What is it? 1 year more on his contract? That said if we free'd up his wages, surely the young frenchie is more likely to happen and that makes sense to me.

Moving on to Ipswich, Whoscored is predicting a 1-2 result in our favour. Interesting to see that our whole first team ranks over 7 points except for Canos (whose score is low because he's only subbed), but if Jacob replaces him, it's everybody.

I've had chips in Ipswich that are better than the chip inn. Felt dirty writing that, but it is the truth. Maybe they only taste good once all the fat is wiped off on a big bushy tache
My problem would be again, offloading players, freeing up the wages. Not bringing in replacements.
We can't sign a Defender because AN says we wont spend money on any other positions, until he has a striker in. As a Striker still sounds miles off, I don't think we should be letting any other players go, unless its some young midfielders out on loan.
