Watford are going to need 2 or 3 coaches to get their team to away games, crazily stupid how many players they bought. Think it might backfire on them.

Everyone seems to be panicking but I don't care if we get anymore in or not, of course if we can get someone in who can improve our team then do it, but we've had 3 months to do so, I just hope we don't get someone in who isn't better than what we've got.

Irish international team-mates I'm guessing
Yea, But I wonder why he's come out and said that today. There sounds like there might be a lot of work happening to try and make it happen? Otherwise you would just say "be nice if he comes, but he's got a lot of options" He said he'd be speaking to him today to see what's happening. Looks like we might be pinning out striker hopes on just Walters now? WBA look like they have finnished business, Leicester are concentrating on getting Dyer finalized at the moment. Still hearing nothing of a CB.

Reminds me so much of QPR. Really hoping it works out the same.

With Watford, I think they've let go of a lot of players as well though, so I doubt their squad's that big? Their problem will be integrating and as you say could massively backfire

I was being sarcastic. But bringing in that many players will either be a hit or a miss, I just don't think it's the right way to go.

It's not just the lack of sell-on value that concerns me about Mbokani, it's more the fact that by the age of 29 (30 in a couple of months) he remains competely unproven at this level. Yes, he scored lot of goals in Belgium, but that's not comparable with the Premier League, and his only spells in Europe's top divisions were fleeting ones with Wolfsburg and Monaco, both of which were unsuccessful.

If Hooper does move on and nobody else comes in up front today then we are taking one hell of a risk if you ask me, especially if Grabban remains part of the squad.

I think that risk is more or less the same whether a player has played in La Liga or the Belgian League or whatever, though. We've seen enough good players from La Liga come and fail here despite being class previously. Same with the German leagues. The only league I think you can safely recruit from in that regard is the Championship, where it's purely a question of are they good enough rather than can they cope with the physical strain!

So I think any continental player is a big risk and the only way of hedging that is by getting in physical players (i.e. boring, safety first) - RvW struggled on that front, but what little I've seen of Mbokani he's got that as an asset. I'd be far more concerned about whether he can finish properly - my biggest fear is he'll simply be Kei Kamara mark II - perfectly capable of matching up physically but actually not that good when given a chance on goal. You can't tell that in youtube videos, although at least he has a better pedigree than Kamara

@BroadcastMoose: Just hearing @NorwichCityFC have bid £8m for @CPFC striker @dwightgayle

I'd be happy enough with that, I genuinely would. On the evidence of our start to the season I think we might need an upgrade on Jerome rather than back-up for him, I honestly don't see Mbokani being that so I would still expect us to bring another established Premier League striker in and I think he can do a decent job for us.

Derby accounts on Twitter are reporting that Norwich have agreed a fee for Bradley Johnson to leave. That can't be true, can it?
Didn't he only recently just sign a new contract? I wouldn't want to see him go, same with Hooper but for some reason we never willing to give him a go so I can understand him going.

I seriously hope not and can't imagine for a moment why on earth we'd want to do that? If he does move on it surely can't be for footballing reasons and would suggest to me that something has gone on behind the scenes, something we really don't want happening.

Almost certain it's absolute rubbish though, I really don't see comfortably our best player from last season being seen as surplus to requirements.

If true then we will have used the opportunity of the transfer window to seriously weaken our squad!
