That's nonsense, Car Giant already acknowledge they will be leaving the site and hope to be part of the development, but only the person chosen by the GLA or rather Boris, will be able to build it. The developers Cargiant have chosen to work with have never worked on a project bigger than 900 flats, Old Oak would be 25,000. They aren't exactly pushing the boat out in terms of effort. Whereas we've chosen one of the biggest developers and are backed by some very rich industrialists. Beard going is nothing to do with the stadium.
His legacy will remain. I consider his stay at the club to be like that of Jordan Mutch - he came with a bit of a reputation, appeared on a couple of occasions and then leaves with a few questions marks still floating around.
I was basing my comment on the article in the Brent and KIlburn Times yesterday which said, among other things "If QPR choose to go ahead on their chosen site they will need to buy some land of Cargiant, which has been unsuccessful so far, or obtain a Compulsory Purchase Order. According to a source a CPO would be unlikely because Cargiant are willing to redevelop the land, the cost of obtaining one could exceed £1miliion and the time to be granted one could take as much as ten years."
After brief reflection, I wonder if PB is carrying the can for some of the flops we've signed over the last few years. Just a thought.
Frankly with his previous rep had I been in his position I'd have jumped ship from this bag of spanners a long time ago! That he didn't is interesting in itself. Did our Tone convince him of the "dream"? Was he waiting for SWP to score a hatrick? Or has he just sat back with a big fat salary and done f@@@ all?
Can't blame him never got a look in and Mr Ramsey must have told him he is not in his plans but there again i don't think he registered one shot on goal? I bet he turns up playing for Millwall He has the frame for it in 7-1-3 formation
Very bad news? As lots of supporters have held Beard responsible for the length of contracts & the salaries given to players I don't understand your statement. He was also the man who caused all the problems with The Lower Loft. Please tell me why we should be upset about his departure? I regard this as a continuation of our long overdue cost saving & perhaps the realisation that they won't be winning the Old Oak contract.
Deeply unimpressive sums him up perfectly. Presided over lunatic wages paid to players long-past their sell-by date and the Training Ground fiasco and seemingly a similar balls-up over the new stadium, any other CEO would've been sacked long ago...
Now we can go back to being little old Qpr, nice little stadium, everybody 2nd favourite team, flirt with the premier league punching above there weight, no there place.properly run club.
When a CEO leaves a business/company unless its to retire or take a dream job it normally means thing are not good. So in that case i would say its bad news. Sadly for us we have been run badly for some time now.
I wonder if Kevin Bond will see out the season? James might be of more help to Chris Ramsey though. I had Bond figured as a bit of hanger-on from the Redknapp entourage, but perhaps free of Rosie & Co. he can now make his own mark? I imagine if Ramsey & Les didn't want him around, he would be gone already.
I would agree with that, but a lot of what is wrong with the company that the CEO is leaving si the decisions made by the CEO. I feel that has some applicatuion in the case of Beard.
Thank you Goldhawk always could tell u was intelligent I hate predictive text my phone should have learnt by now APR = APR ,dam it's done it again #QPR
