"By West London Sport Chief executive Philip Beard is leaving QPR. Beard was given the job at Loftus Road immediately after the Tony Fernandes-fronted takeover of 2011. Rangers say Beard is leaving because the nature of the chief executive role has changed."
As people may know from my previous comments I welcome this move as PB has been very unimpressive. I do wonder if this marks the death knell of New Queens Park however. Only at QPR could we take on the successful project manager behind London 2012 and get nothing from him in terms of improving the club's infrastructure in 3 years.
If it's linked, that really would be an acknowledgment by our owners of Car Giant's insurmountable position in the planning struggle.
Quite interesting because he would have been the ideal person to front the new stadium and training ground. Not really good news tbh. All we need next is for TF to say Stadium in oak Common ain't happening? Maybe he c@cked up with Stadium or knows something we don't, or maybe he is just surplus and wants new challenges?
Very bad news whichever way you look at this. However, it is just possible that he got offered a peach of a job in Australia or something else that he could not say 'no' to.
Hope RTID is right but suspect this is as a result of a failure to secure the new stadium. After all, that was our primary reason for bringing him in.
Tony's got rid of his facial hair and an annoying dingleberry (and associated cling ons) in a couple of weeks. Spilt milk etc, but pretty obviously more than 3 years have been worse than wasted.
Normally in big companies when CEO goes then other heads roll. Seriously with news it wouldn't surprise me if TF stepped down at end of season. If they have f@@ked up the new Stadium then they all need to do the Potomac Shuffle.
Don't Blame it on Sunshine, Don't blame on moonlight, Blame on the Beardo. Happy Days, Now for a fresh start.
The problem with Old Oak Common is that now Car Giant have decided to develop, we won't get a compulsory purchase order against them, so it seems QPR's plans are dead in the water unless the relevant planning authorities find a reason to intervene for community reasons
I think this is the start along with Ramsey being appointed seeing a new change in direction with QPR, we are heading back to our old ways before we had money which has been badly spent over the TF reine
