Team News:

Arsene Wenger:
[on the team news] The difference from Saturday is that Oxlade-Chamberlain is out for a while with a knee problem. Everybody else should make it. There's a final decision [on Wednesday] but Sagna and Gibbs should be available.

Manager's Views:

Arsene Wenger on the importance of the Fenerbahce game:
Yes of course [they are the most important games of the season], we fought very hard last season to be in the top four and that game has a vital importance.

It's a consequence of what we tried to achieve last season and therefore, on the back of our defeat against Aston Villa, it's important as well to bounce back straight away.

To be part of the top level - that is for us the most important thing. All the rest are the consequences of it. When you are a football player, you want to play at the top level and that's what the Champions League is about.

We try to win everywhere we go. That is the only target we have to set ourselves.

We respect Fenerbahce highly but in the history of our club we have gone everywhere, all over, and always had a desire to win and that is what we will do again.

On paper that team looks better than the one that was playing on the weekend. Personally I wouldn't play Frimpong as this would be rather risky as he hasn't played much pre-season and Ramsey has looked good so far. I'm surprised that Sagna has recovered so quickly as his fall was quite sickening, i'm very happy that he came out of that ok. Apart from missing Arteta, that is pretty much our first 11, so it really doesn't look all that bad. As long as we keep it tight, a draw would be a good result playing at such a hard away fixture, so early on in the season.

Looking at the starting 11 then the backbone of the team is there - they will fear walcott's pace, having giroud's strength to hold the ball and win in the air, kos and mert are (usually) solid together. Let's not loose hope after 1 game into PL. The same team did go unbeaten 10 games and won nicely against City in pre-season. There are games where everything really goes wrong and we had that game straight away.

Come on!

Rosicky, Gibbs and Ramsey should all be fine for Wednesday I heard. Sagna is a doubt.

I think that we're capable of getting a result. This team's biggest problem is inconsistency. Poor against Galatasary, good against City, poor against Villa. This is why we need experienced, quality signings, not kids. Hopefully we can qualify for CL, bring in some good players and get our season up and running.

Is Frimpong even in our CL squad? And anyway, as well as not being very good, the guy is also not match fit, having played next to zero minutes in pre-season.

What happens if they beat us over the two legs and then get expelled ?

Do we get their place ?
