Hoadie - what you talking about? Do you ever bother to even read other people's posts? Looking at the mess you've made of the England threads, every other post I doubt it. How is that a response to what gillslad69 said? Hoadie, do you actually even know anything about Lee Clark's time at Huddersfield, because that comment says you do not. I sense someone's hasty retreat to google coming on.

No I don't think I read his post properly and I obviously did not read mine as that did not make sense, but on the England board I was posting a bit to get the thread going as the more people who start to chat the more there may be by the game.
I want to build up at least a few people who chat on there all the time during the Euro's.

Goodnight.

Yeah I think it has been an off day for me, not on the ball, did have a History exam earlier, everyone has a day where everything they write don't seem to make sense.

some more than others  <whistle>
oxon - I don't think I have relinquished the mantle of smart ass - please control yourself - besides brb was doing alright without any help.

back on topic
We probably won't have to wait until 5th July - by then I reckon all but one of the candidates will have got another job - we'll work out the last name before Scally tells us.

I'm a big Scally fan, but I really don't understand why this process is taking so long. I'm worried we may end up missing out on a few key signings. It's not like we have to wait until the Euros are over because our new manager is still involved... Or is it!!!

I still think it's a method to limit the number of signings the new manager can bring in. Scally has said the squad will be smaller than last season and (as I previously said) the focus is going to have to shift on keeping players fit. I don't really mind who comes in anymore, as long as we do not do a Bradford and stagnate in this division and get promoted!

if thats anywhere near correct gillslad...about scally delaying tactics, i'd say the chairman needs his head read, because if signings are not made to improve this team, along with making the side stronger...the team will be worse than last season and will finish alot lower than that season's failure !

That's my hypercynical view on it Oxon but I don't think it takes nearly two months to replace a manager (if it gets to the 5th of July). Perhaps it's his way of averting fans' gazes from applicants turning the job down! I just don't believe a manager being on holiday is going to prevent him from having a skype conversation with Scally. Hopefully I'm wrong, I am a supporter of Scally but I think we should have found and appointed a replacement already.

Am I the only one who doesnt want Tilson? if he does become manager i hope he proves me wrong.

Your not the only one. Surely we have not waited all this time for a new manager for it to turn out to be Tilson. If taken on, I will give him the same open minded views and support as I have done with every other manager.

Although I just feel with this lengthy wait, we could be brewing up all sorts of problems. Last season I can not remember fans turning their frustrations on PS because it was generally felt that the manager had been well supported. However, how quickly things could change and if we do not get off to a good start in our opening fixtures, some of those same fans are going to be having a field day due to this delayed appointment, unless PS pulls a surprise name out of the hat.

Tilson would certainly not be my 1st choice of manager, and if he is appointed I feel it maybe because the 1st, 2nd and 3rd choices (or possibly even 4th) have either gone elsewhere or turned us down for whatever reason. I can't possibly see any other reason why Tilson (if he was 1st choice) hasn't been named.

I still feel that we will have our manager announced the day after Birmingham announce there's.

Scally is digging himself a very deep hole here which he will only be able to get of if he a) announces an incredible manager or b) the manager he does announce does rediculously well. If it's b then it'll be a while before he's justified and it'll be more remarkable as I feel that some fans will be on the managers back from the off and every little bad thing will be blown out of proportion.

As much as I want the new manager to be announced I'm now starting to fear it.

No, I think I have already said I would be disappointed if it was Tilson, I was excited then I heard his name, he is an average manager, not the best choice but if he is going to be the manager I will give him my backing but I would not be too happy that we have had to wait all this time just for him.

Tilson, to his credit, did fantastic at Southend and IF he gets the job IF he could recreate that would be great. Lincoln was a mess and he was a muppet for taking the job.

I'll get behind whoever gets the job but I can't see why it's taking so long if Tilson is the main contender. I can only see him as back up. Like I said I think, that's all it is me thinking, that if Clarke doesn't get the Birmingham job then we could be in with a shout (purely because of that article where he wouldn't say anything) if he does I could see Tilson being appointed fairly soon after that announcement. I hope through that if he is we don't hear the words "number 1 choice" come out of the club because we all know it would be a lie. Bit like Wolves last season.
