An appointment more driven by family circumstances than football it seems. Nevertheless, you’re getting a very good manager, I’m sorry to see him go!

Manning did an exceptional job with a powderpuff front end-the two donkeys we paid over 5 million for are not championship material-we relied on a 35 year old in Nahki Wells up front.
However many city fans were divided with manningball the forward-sideways-backward football was so frustrating on the eye.
Facts he got us into the top six with a side that was lacking goals.
Lots of us are happy he has moved on but wish him well.
If Bristol City can get the striker situation sorted and recruit another keeper and keep the rest of the squad together then i fancy us again next season.
From your perspective it will probably be a season of Manning watching-learning and addressing the areas he is concerned with.
Hopefully he can choose his players unlike us that have a meddling Brian Tinnion orchestrating signings.

He seems very stubborn in his ways-
60 minutes every game subs come on but he does not have a plan B or C when things are not going right.
Most managers are the same imo.
The ones that aren't are the most successful ones, with the most successful clubs.
Time will tell if he proves to be an asset, the jury is still out obviously.

Has his coaching team come as well? I understood that they had but haven't seen anything concrete
Simply a good man, sorry to see him go, wish him and his family well, he did brilliant for us for us and we ended up top 6, all the best..
The last I read, Bristol City were holding out for compensation for them. We're holding back on that knowing that they're unlikely to be chosen by the new manager coming in. Needs to be resolved before the players return on 20 June.
I don't think he left for footballing reasons. He was born in Norwich, married a local girl and as all their immediate family are in East Anglia he could not turn down the chance to move here after his family disaster last year. Good luck in your search for a successor.
Not meet compensation level-new man will want his own backroom team-i'm sure it will all get sorted.
Sounds a bit petty on Knapper's part to me. I can't imagine the sums involved are huge, and we reportedly paid a relatively modest level of compensation for Manning himself. Just get it sorted.

Given it appears that Norwich are hoping to avoid having to pay anything at all (as reported in the Pink'Un), it would be hard not to sympathise with Bristol if they did decide to be awkward.
But I think that’s fairly normal when a manager leaves, the staff that came with him normally leave. Why should we pay compensation when whoever they select as their new manager will likely want to replace them with his own staff
