Wouldnt understand this signing. Santon has shown he is more than capable with Raylor also in reserve. Simmo has improved a lot.

Oh dear. What would you rather have, Simpson right back and Santon left back, or Santon in his natural place right back and Cissokho at left back?
Yeah, but would you rather have an extra full-back or an extra centre-back? Prioritisation of positions really.

Oh dear. We all know how tight our board is, so what would you rather do: Spend good money on a centre back and striker first rather than this?

Would be an exciting signing in terms of our ambition - we'd have 2 Europa league maybe CL quality full backs. Pardew keeps on saying he needs to encourage MA. That win over Man U hopefully did that
I agree, but since the grapevine is suggesting we've only got 8 million for this window, I'd rather buy a Centre-back or a striker. If we buy a striker, they will most likely be Europa League quality (e.g. Erding, Maiga), as we're not looking for back up. Speaking of Maiga, I'm so annoyed he failed the medical. I just remember every so often and whimper a little bit...
I'm sure that's just been down to bad luck though. He's always looked Champions League quality when I've seen him, which admittedly is not alot
