I've never been his biggest fan, but I do think Pandur did enough to justify keeping him around next season - his performances in the run in were excellent.

Joseph I think will be a big miss for his flexibility and his pressing - virtues I think we will need next year.

Shame we're in this position really.

I agree, that said I suspect he'll be replaced by someone equally athletic, but more clinical in front of goal.

It does seem bonkers that we have to offload players to meet a criteria by the end of June, but can buy someone more expensive than the players we sell after June.
Not really.
There's rightly spending rules (*) when in the Championship, which we were last season (* not saying they are the right ones, just that they are there and have to be adhered to).
Then there's different spending rules when in the PL, which we will be this coming season.
Very logical.

It'll be a shame to lose two likeable players who've achieved success with us, in Pandur and Joseph. But on the other hand it makes some sense. Joseph's attributes are suited to the Championship but every PL team that goes down seems to lack firepower and he's that sort of player sadly. Pandur we needed to improve on probably even if we didn't go up just because of his distribution and confidence coming off his line. Again a real shame because the other parts of his game are very good, but it's clear as day.

Looking to move on? Surprised at that tbh

When we had decent numbers fit this season he was struggling for minutes let alone in a premier league squad. Pretty sure he recognises his own situation and would rather be playing more regularly. A move to a good Millwall side is a decent opportunity for him too, could argue an upgrade from where he was 12 months ago. And he has personal links to them which sweetens it a bit more.

I guess.

Just seems like an arbitrary line too, that we have to sell by 11:59pm a week on Tuesday but can splash the cash two minutes later.

I am sure regular first team football must be a big draw. He is no fool and must realise if he stays he will be a bit part player at best.
If he goes then good luck to the lad. No-one could ever fault his commitment or endeavour.

Knows that if he's second choice in the champ then he's not going to get much chance in the prem.

Pretty much this and hes from around the london area and he has a child so i can see why it appeals to him

I imagine for a footballer
Sitting on the bench is so demoralizing
