if the team missed anything it was a 'granit' in the middle, someone capable of finding that space and being the 'on pass' but not going to complain too much.

Southgate's England and FIFA's corruption, along with my difficult timezone, absolutely decimated my interest in the national side.

That said, I'm incredibly pleased to see that it looks like England went for it and found some killer instinct in front of goal against a very good side in what could have been a nervy first match.

If we play like this it will bring back interest for a lot of fans who have slowly lost interest through years of sideways, ‘don’t lose’ football.

The whole world watched us going forward last night and thought ‘**** me these are a bit tasty’

We talk about other teams squads but we brought Saka, Rogers and Rashford off bench (Rashford must replace Gordon next game)

Easiest way to fix apathy is to make something that catches the eye. We did that.

We weren’t playing Curacao or Tesco reserves here either, this was a very capable Croatia side.

After thinking about last nights match…. If you turned off that game at half time and looked at the score this morning to find out Croatia had won… I wouldn’t have been surprised… Englands defense was awful… they mess about with the ball at the back and Croatia picked us off so often it was embarrassing.. Second half was much better, but if we play like that against the likes of France.. it would have been game over after 45 minutes

It’s true, but it’s a new back 4, it will improve.

O’Reilly was good on the ball but his positioning and awareness were shambolic, young lad first ever World Cup game he be much better v Ghana.

Pickford was untidy as well not like him. But a win calms nerves and we will be better.

We looked superb when we turned it up. There isn’t a team in the world that won’t struggle to contain that.

If we win every game 3-2 or whatever that’s a wonderful tournament to watch.

My concern is no natural left back cover. Hope O'Reilly improves as he's a cracking player.
Pickford seemed to start a bit scatty and when he's in that mood I think he panics the back 4 a bit.
Hopefully all just first game nerves.

Aye I really rate O’Reilly. Young lad first World Cup game nerves as say. He will be better next game.

Pressure is off now that win essentially wins us group.

She's ****ing daft. According to her the Cape Verde result was a victory for immigration....pulling people from all over the world......it's called the World Cup ffs!
