Some good finishing but outside of 25 mins in the 2nd half, we didn't look like world beaters. That low block defending with 20 to go just invited more pressure. We had no exit with Kane and others dropping into the backs. Nice to get a win in the bag but I hope we see more of early 2nd half England during the rest of the tournament.

That England win needs to be seen in perspective. Croatia lost only once in each of the last two World Cups -- beaten finalists in 2018, semi-finalists in 2022. Last night was their first Group Stage defeat since 2014. They are no mugs.
