Hull City have taken up a one-year option in Harvey Cartwright's contract to keep the goalkeeper at the club until the end of next season. The Grimsby-born 24-year-old spent part of last season on loan at Hartlepool and will get another year at the Tigers, who have confirmed their retained list for next season.

Cartwright's new contract is the only senior retention from the first team squad, with confirmation midfielder Harry Vaughan will leave the club on June 30 when his contract expires, having been on loan at Irish club Bohemians.

There is also confirmation the loan deals have ended for Joe Gelhardt, Toby Collyer, Amir Hadziahmetovic, Yu Hirakawa, Lewis Koumas and John Lundstram. The rest of the first team squad remain under for at least one more year.

In the under-21s, while captain Lewie Coyle is celebrating promotion to the Premier League, younger brother Rocco Coyle has been released. Coyle joins Pharrell Brown, Sammy Henia-Kamau, João Mendes, Harry Revill, Noah Wadsworth and Callum Yam in leaving following the expiry of their deals, but new contracts have been offered to Stan Ashbee, Ed Devine, Archie Howard, Aidon Shehu and Nathan Tinsdale.

From the under-18s, second-year scholars Ramell Carter and Josh Ocaya have been promoted to the under-21s after signing their first professional deals, while Zac Jagielka, Charlie Leach, Calvin Okike and Reuben Silk have been offered professional contracts to join the Under-21s.
So we dont need Ronaldos son now we are massive again. We might sign the slim Ronaldos lad now.

Wembley and getting promoted was amazing

But if we have a season where we get about
16-20 points
Its going to be well depressing <laugh>
I disagree. Enjoy the ride, see some quality footballers and enjoy being in the promotion hunt of a great division again next season. I'd settle for being a yo yo club for a while.

Luton would have struggled to attract quality players hence their transfer policy, much like our first season in 08/09. Don’t think we will have the same problems. Also they used a lot of the money to invest into their infrastructure which we almost certainly won’t.

I thought Pharrel Brown would have bee one for the future, but the way Hull City bothers with the kids we may as well do what Brentford do & not bother with the academy, seems like a waste of time.
Brentford scrapped their academy ten years ago, but relaunched it again in 2022, spending £30m on new facilities for them.

tbf, having seen him play a few times in the past couple of years, I thought earlier on that he was going to be "one for the future", but like others have effectively said, he just didn't kick on when given the chances in mens football. Not really a kid anymore, 22 in December, I doubt he'll be one we will be saying slipped through our net, but might make a career lower down EFL maybe (maybe not).

Pandur is a strange one. I don’t know why we don’t set up like Big Sam used to from goal kicks, put 2/3 round Crooks and McBurnie and smash it.
At times we do do something like that, the problem is the ball doesn't get there.

A lot of people are talking about him kicking it off the pitch, but I think the bigger issue is the times where the kick goes short of the area he was aiming for and ends up on the head of someone facing towards our goal and with half our team already committed behind him. That happened quite a few times at Wembley.

They didn’t sign championship all stars, the likes of Mengi, Chong, Brown, Andersen were average to decent championship players
Chong was coming off a good season, they signed Giles after his terrific spell with boro, and there were a few others. They also had a new stadium to invest in so were more constrained than Ipswich.

Their recruitment admitted defeat before the season began, as they decided to invest in the facilities mainly. It was the level of signing you’d expect a Derby to be making this summer, for the most part.
