I wouldn't be mad with that either. To be honest I really don't think any of the current batch are good enough for the PL, but some may have a better chance than others and the trick may be to balance their current and potential value. Although only 25 Pandur has probably hit his ceiling?

At 25, he definitely hasn't hit his ceiling

Well the need to raise 6 m and by the end of this month does rather put a damper on things. Dont we have any bean counters at City. It seems sloppy accounting to get into this situation. I can count but never dealt with accounts (a lie, my first job out of school was with a Chartered Accountants down Silver Street with a view to becoming an Articled Clarke where my big achievement during the short while I was there was to learn to count Pounds Shillings and Pence in gigantic books at Dickensian offices such as Brown Booksellers but not as fast as the lead Auditor Pete who could scan a whole foolscap page and add the lot up in his head in the blink of an eye). So I dont get the ins and outs of it but 6m seems an awful lot unless we are talking about Pandur or Hughes. Like others cant see us getting that for a bunch of the fringe players. To go into the Premier League, where getting points will be a huge challenge, to start with a deduction is to say the least (and pun intended here) is a big downer.

You’d get £2m for Drameh alone. Probably another £2m for Burstow given age and performance last season. The rest would sort itself out
I say again, you'd get exactly what someone is prepared to pay, they'll know our situation, and will use it to their advantage. I'll flash my arse in binns window if we get £2m for either given the urgency to sell

Selling Drameh would be ideal because we signed him on a free transfer so any transfer fee would be pure profit. The same is true of Ajayi, Akintola, Phillips, Jacob (academy player), Famewo and Dowell. Gyabi and Destan were also signed on free transfers but Leeds and Trabzonspor have a 50% sell-on clause.

If push comes to shove and we can’t scrape enough profit to get us below the line, we might have to sell Pandur or Slater, maybe even both…

We could do with finding a club that have similar PSR problems and do one of those inflated player swap deals. They sign Akintola for £20m and we sign one of theirs for a similar amount. Problem solved

I remember Villa and Everton doing something similar a while back. Basically traded an academy player each for about £30m.

Other clubs will also be struggling to hit their PSR targets as well so, trying to get deals done before 1st July could well prove tricky.
Clubs know we need to off load to hit the target, means we are going to get low ball offers.
Don't forget we owe £2m extra for Omur now that we got promoted into the PL.

Interesting times ahead over the next few weeks.
But other clubs know they are only going to get a bargain in June. No point them going too low that it gets rejected then the price goes up in July

Ok, slightly different take on this. How desperate are we to sell? Of course we don't want a points penalty in the PL, it would obviously increase our chance of relegation. But Acun has already floated the notion that relegation shouldn't be the end of the world as he's hoping to have a young, improving squad and parachute money which will give us a good chance of coming straight back up again with no financial problems and a squad fit for PL survival.
Not saying we're planning for relegation but we might not feel inclined to give our players away for nothing.

Only 50% of profit...not the whole fee

Im guessing there will be some really creative wheeling and dealing, players with zero sell on fees... credit notes against outstanding if they play x number of games...

Also, I don’t really rate Dan Neil. I think he’s a bang-average midfielder even in the Championship so he’s nowhere near Premier League level.
