Wonder how the crowd, owner and media will respond when or if it's a bad run, like the 18 game winless run Burnley or wolves had... Will it be stoic, accepting support like the owls fans had or finger pointing and screaming like the Hammers - at the moment, hope rules, but the summer signing will determine how the season will go, as great escapes aren't that common in the premier League - I only remember west ham when they signed tevez and Leicester the season before they won it.
Stoic
Hopefully

The Kempton was the East Stand at Boothferry Park, opposite the Best Stand ( west) where the players came out. Called such because it backed onto Kempton Road. It also backed onto the railway line, Boothferry Halt. It was all terracing, and the covered stand covered a third of the terracing. The low roof made it good for accoustics and the noise created in there made for an intimidating atmosphere. The singing section of the City crowd first moved into the East Stand aka Kempton/Railway stand on May 3rd 1971 from the South Stand aka Bunkers Hill, before Chris Chilton's testimonial v Leeds Utd which attracted a 29,000+ crowd.
Normally I would be on Bunkers behind the goal. However the Millwall Boxing day 65 game could not get near Bunkers so was at the Bunkers end of the east stand-Kempton-that was my first game for a six years after being away from Hull. The team had definitely raised its game since I had last seen them and it showed in the size of the gate and the quality of the players.

I know 100% that I am fighting a losing battle supporting the DJ on this forum where the average age here is probably about 60 and I’m 30 years below that.

As I said, different strokes for different folks.

I think it’s obvious that those who are a bit younger enjoy the DJ and those who are older do not.
Nothing's changed since we were young men like yourself (or younger),just starting off our long careers supporting City.

I started going when I was 8/9,it was motown(Diana Ross,Smokey Robinson,Martha Reeves etc),mungo jerry, the hollies,Elvis,Kenny Rogers etc etc blaring from the tannoys. It went from that to glam rock,Bowie,T Rex,Showaddywaddy,Mud,even disco stuff. My late father(who sat in the main stand) used to say "what's that bloody noise, they sound as if they're in pain"," bloody rubbish", "cats chorus"etc,etc..(He was big on Jazz and Blues, that sort of stuff that I thought was ****,not now though).

It's a generational thing,it's always been the case and some of us have now very much become our Fathers:emoticon-0102-bigsm

If truth be told it affects me very little,I cut it fine when I go to football and I'm that desperate for a pee when I get to the ground that I sometimes miss the first couple or so minutes. The only thing that pisses me off if I'm sat before kick off is that screeching nonsense of the cnut on the Mike roaring at the stands.

You're not fighting a losing battle and if you feel you are,it's a battle that we've all fought at some point in our lifes:emoticon-0148-yes:,

Your opinion is as relevant as any one elses on here, irrespective of your age.And let's be brutally honest about forums such as this, they change nothing going forward...

You are the DJ and I claim my five pounds. Personally, and I sat within twenty seats of the DJ for the past two season ( moving for next season) and I found him to be a pain in the arse. His play list has nothing to do with football, Hull or more importantly the history of Hull City. It was more fitting to his bedroom or the school disco It means nothing and adds nothing to the pre match atmosphere.
I doubt if more than a handful of his pals are even listening to him.
Bin him and lets get a bit more professional now we are in the Premier League and employ someone, pitch announcer included, who is 100% professional and really knows how to build up the atmosphere at a football match in front of a full house and millions watching live, all over the World on the telly, instead of playing at it as we are at the moment.
Diddy David Hamilton? Is he dead now?

Described by the Yorkshire post as the ‘Cauldron of Hate’

Post of the week. Well said Ric!

My 'memory' thought it was 'theatre of hate' as a play on 'theatre of dreams'...
Had to try and search engine it and of course without asking Ai decided to chip in (I keep turning it off but the ****ing robots in my phone turn it on again when I’m not expecting it)
Anyway according to robot witchcraft we must have missed what would have been an interesting gig!
