Well if he wants to play in the equivalent of league 1 then so be it.
People acting like he's 37, he's still got 2-3 years at PL level if he's motivated.
Well if he wants to play in the equivalent of league 1 then so be it.
Windass was very different. Local lad coming home. How did it go for Windass? For Campbell? There's a few instances where it's gone reasonably well I would have thought.
****ing ****ing Cahill…You must log in or register to see media
If I’m honest, I thought Mason’s the worst signing we made that season, his best game was literally his last IMO!****ing ****ing Cahill…
Still puzzles me that Cahill wasn’t imprisoned for that attempted murder. But I’m aware I say this everytime he is mentioned!****ing ****ing Cahill…
I agree 100% with the principle, but for me left back is one of only maybe two or three positions where we have a youngish player with real potential to make it big with us, or sell on for a decent profit if we come down again. On that basis I’d be targeting other areas for the big money signings, whilst obviously looking for a decent back up for less cost.Whatever player we target there is a player already playing in that position.
The players should relish the competition. Plus as has been proven this season you never know what's going to happen with injuries
Humberside interview with Dublin ahead of the final he intimated he hoped Collyer would be back with us next season regardless of the division.Kamara
Omur
Palmer
Burstow
Destan
Potentially all sold/loaned out again? Should net us maybe 10-12m?
Then what about
Phillips
Famewo
Jacob
Gyabi
Drameh
Akintola
Dowell
Probably need shifting too? Would get a reasonable chunk of wages off the books and maybe some ok fees in. Am I forgetting any others?
Then you have
Amir
Collyer
Yu
Lundstrum
Gelhardt
Koumas
I would think we may look at signing Amir, Gelhardt, maybe Koumas back on loan (though doubtful in prem) not sure I'd bother with Collyer, Yu or Lunny.
PL starters we already have in my mind would be Hughes, Giles, Belloumi, maybe McBurnie at a stretch and I wouldn't be against giving Slater a crack at it. But other than that I think we need an improvement in GK, a second CB, RB, attacking midfield, winger and a striker. Priority for me is probably in midfield and for some reason I just keep coming back to someone like Calhanoglu as Acun's version of getting Xhaka.
Having a solid financial basis is the key, the first time we went up we were an absolute basket case financially and the fire sale in the summer after we first stayed up was a total shambles.....2nd and 3rd time.....that's all thanks to ****nut 1 and ****nut 2 who deliberately sabotaged the club.....that sliding doors moment when they ****ed the sale to the american geezers then Bruce left and we started the season with 11 senior outfield players was just mental.....if we'd had sensible owners in place who'd invested in a manager like Silva in the summer and the players he wanted we'd have stayed up comfortably that year an who knows, could still be there nowThe longest we have survived in the PL is two years. How do you target going beyond that? Some clubs yo yo. Some clubs slip into oblivion (Luton) and others have stayed up for years (Leicester in the past).
Out of the Championship, I'd like to see:
Hamer
Vipotnik
V. Johansson
Krama
Sturge
Coburn
Hackney
Louza
Obviously not all of them but I'd be happy with any of them.
Think we're going to buy a lot of pace going by Serge's comments.
Liverpool have released RobertsonThe former player thing may be because it's a name people know and have seen what they can do in the Premier league. Safer than Pera Peric from the Croatian league.
Regarding Robertson why leave Liverpool to go to Spurs? In my view he either stays at Liverpool or goes off piste and outside the box could be us or somewhere in Scotland.
How about Ross Barclay from Villa? Very experienced midfield player. Strong as an ox , no-one would push him about and vastly experienced at the top level.
Just what we need in the centre of midfield.
I don't think that's before parachutes, but it is quoted at the minimum guaranteed.215m before parachutes, I’d be very surprised if we didn’t splash towards 100m and it absolutely is a great plan if you manage to stay up. Don’t have to spend loads on **** but 15m young talents from Europe alla Brentford is absolutely the way to go and we need 8+ of them.
Isn't it only 2 years parachute money if you come down after your first season?Yeah is my understanding - there was a table somewhere which showed revenue from the league last year, Wolves in last were something like £114m, the remaining 90m comes from 3x30m parachute payments
