Windass was very different. Local lad coming home.
Campbell different too, although more similar in terms of being a fans favourite for obvious reason. Only here a year on loan (I think?) first time and hadn’t been established as one of the best in his position in the PL before he came back.

If I’m honest, I thought Mason’s the worst signing we made that season, his best game was literally his last IMO!
Still puzzles me that Cahill wasn’t imprisoned for that attempted murder. But I’m aware I say this everytime he is mentioned!
I agree 100% with the principle, but for me left back is one of only maybe two or three positions where we have a youngish player with real potential to make it big with us, or sell on for a decent profit if we come down again. On that basis I’d be targeting other areas for the big money signings, whilst obviously looking for a decent back up for less cost.

Having a solid financial basis is the key, the first time we went up we were an absolute basket case financially and the fire sale in the summer after we first stayed up was a total shambles.....2nd and 3rd time.....that's all thanks to ****nut 1 and ****nut 2 who deliberately sabotaged the club.....that sliding doors moment when they ****ed the sale to the american geezers then Bruce left and we started the season with 11 senior outfield players was just mental.....if we'd had sensible owners in place who'd invested in a manager like Silva in the summer and the players he wanted we'd have stayed up comfortably that year an who knows, could still be there now
Obviously impressed with Dublin’s recruitment so far will this be his biggest job/budget he’s worked with?
You could build a decent Prem team from ex-City players.
I'd be taking a look at Tymon.
Many folks championship left back of the year.

Liverpool have released Robertson
He'd be exactly what we need in midfield, did a great job for Luton a few years back.
Getting on a bit but for one season he'd be ideal.
I’ll leave who we actually bring into the club to those in charge but strengthening our midfield and focusing on keeping the ball better as a unit has to be points to our game we’ll surely work on. Keeping possession and bossing games is vital in any league but with so many match winners in the Premier League you cannot invite teams on without eventually paying the Price.

I don't think that's before parachutes, but it is quoted at the minimum guaranteed.
Obviously if we stay up the first season then that will unlock an extra season of parachute payments should we come back down.
Isn't it only 2 years parachute money if you come down after your first season?
I think we’ll be looking at adding a few players along the lines of Haaland, Bruno Fernandes, Saka.
