215m before parachutes, I’d be very surprised if we didn’t splash towards 100m and it absolutely is a great plan if you manage to stay up. Don’t have to spend loads on **** but 15m young talents from Europe alla Brentford is absolutely the way to go and we need 8+ of them.

Are you sure, all the stuff I’ve found is if you finish say last it’s 105 million? Parachute payments takes it too 200.

Yeah is my understanding - there was a table somewhere which showed revenue from the league last year, Wolves in last were something like £114m, the remaining 90m comes from 3x30m parachute payments

I'm torn between: "He's too old / Mercenary" and "Could still do a job in the PL"

Mind you, Brady is advocating Modric - and he's 40 so you never know
There must be a 41 year old out there we can go for? Let’s have some ambition. Both top at their craft but must be on the verge of the end of their careers.

Why is modric not showing ambition?
Hes been very good for milan and hes never relied on pace

You only get 2 years of parachutes if you go straight down, so they must be more than 30m to make the 200

Edit, 55% year 1, 45% year 2, and if we stay up a year, 20% in year 3. Assume the base must be close to 100m given the media keep saying 200m, plus you get paid for each time you're on TV. Burnley were picked the fewest times, but that was still 17 times, and you get paid extra each time

I think people are getting a bit carried away! I’d rather keep more of the current squad. Sprinkle some talent, but not dismantle the current team completely. If we get relegated, so be it. We’ll be much stronger the season after next.

The dressing room goes a long way. We have one of the best I have seen in recent times.

This is my point. I was saying before the game the moneys great but you’ll have to spend it and more to survive with maybe a 10/1 chance of staying up. Ok, I did it to play down the occasion and make it not hurt as much if we lost.

But in reality 105 million and spending the other 100 is a gamble.

Not a lot of point selling the players we have for 2 million ish and replacing them with 8 10 15 million pound gambles.

The talent we need to bring in is the ones who have been there and done in the Premier league but now nearing the end of their careers.

this is also completely aside from outside investment coming in from very rich men, no chance the dreams achieved and we don’t go for it. All the clubs who have gone for it are in a way better position now.

Fully understand this Brady I just feel there must be other options in less twilight years. He would still cost a good few Bob and wouldn’t want us to be the club that has him at the moment the legs go. We need big strong athletic types to compete in the prem these days. However If he came and was excellent then I would be delighted.

Think we've got enough deadwood (harsh word) to cut a lot of players without upsetting a lot of the core squad.

If we keep

Pandur
Coyle
Egan
Hughes
Ajayi
Giles
Crooks
Slater
Belloumi
Millar
Mcburnie

Drameh
Joffy
Matazo
KJ
Mcnair

That's only 16 out of 25 - so room for 9 new signings. Loan out maybe KJ, Matazo and Drameh and you've got 12.

Not sure other than Gyabi and the loans you could argue there's any core players there not being kept...although I might be missing someone

The old boys think it’s 2008 still and understand the sentiment but the game and especially the prem has absolutely moved on.
Sort of agree but I'd say not all of the PL has moved on. Top half definitely, bottom half less so, and that's likely where we'll be competing initially.

Good options, but both would command fees in the 15m+plus region you'd think. Even tho we'll be increasing our turnover massively, there will always be cheaper options from abroad.....like McBurnie was last year.....when you look at the well run middle ground prem teams, that's where they're getting their players in from

I do think if you are going to get a big fee signing, a striker is the best course of action. They have the biggest sell on potential.

Both of them are still fairly young and with a decent year in the PL we could make a profit. Look at what Ipswich did with Delap.
