Dear god this modern technology....bit of a step up from the Saturday pink after the match and reading all about it on Sunday in the News of the World....those were the days.
:emoticon-0102-bigsm Always amazed me how quickly they got the Pink out. We'd leave the match at Roker and picked it up over the road from the bus stand in Consett about 6pm before we got home.

Man, I miss that!

Either waiting for them coming, ( we got both delivered when I was a young lad) or later on a Saturday night with a pint before we went on for bigger things, or even later just with a pint and then back home!

Just the world changing, but they are a miss. I think the Football Echo was one of the last to go actually.

Am I right in thinking (it was a long time ago! ) that if we'ed lost the "pink" was printed on blue paper?
The pink went to blue when we were relegated in 69 I think.

We understood as kids then that it would be printed in pink again only when we went up. Or, in the far fetched chance of us winning the cup!

I can still remember queuing at the shop with my mates waiting for the papers to come after the final. And there it was, pink!

I think that's right. Maybe someone will remember better, I was pretty young!
