The Mill can reveal that five arrests have been made following our investigation into claims that fake independents were put forward by Tameside Labour in May’s local elections, in order to split opposition votes.

Four men and a woman aged between 23 and 47 were arrested this morning in the Ashton-under-Lyne area, as a result of what the police are calling ‘illegality and criminality’ in the run up to the St Peter’s ward election on May 7th. The arrests were made on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud, and police investigations are ongoing.

Our investigation heard that internal messages had been circulated in Labour WhatsApp groups leading to the election, discussing the tactic of planting stooge Independents in order to split the vote of opposition candidates who could benefit from defecting Labour supporters. The messages were allegedly instantly deleted by other group members, and instructions sent to not discuss the topic in that forum.

Someone's in deep ****e at the top of the pile.

So, Nicola Sturgeon had no idea that her husband had been on the fiddle.

Being so protective about her Party's accounting was just a natural caution I suppose.

In those days when she was a Solictor, I wonder what advice she might have given to any client that came up with such a defence.
No wonder she moved into Politics where the standards are rather lower, it seems.

I read comments on here a while ago about Labour handing out benefits to men with multiple wives. I'll be honest and say that at the time I didn't have a clue if the assertion was true or not, but this suggests it's false.

This site is useful to cut through political dogshite from all sides

Perhaps it’s not only Nigel Farage who has the answers after all.

It’s a very difficult problem, we all want resolved, and no single easy solution …

… untrue, though, to say the government are doing nothing.

I don't know what the problem is...we have nearly one million neets, but need people for, the armed forces, building trades for houses, pot holes filled, electricity infrastructure etc

Not sure how big the problem is with the Brois/ Fa gash wave of legal immigrants, as they replaced all the European nurses, care workers etc kicked out by Brexit.

As for the illegal 'boat people' you would have thought some clever lawyers would have found some way to repatriate them by now, i blame the Magna Carta, right to a trial judge/jury. The current Home Secretary does seem to getting to grips with it.
