I was working on the assumption that summer transfer window opens 1st June.
For premier league, it’s not untll June 15th.
I’ll come back when there’s something worth speculating about.

While the window formally opens on that date plenty of players will be signed before that date, as happens every year.

No idea, but staying up is a much more achievable prospect than 2 or 3 years ago.
But its all relative as you could say that for a number of other clubs as well. It will be bloody difficult to stay up but look at Sunderland compared to Burnley for the most recent options of approach. My mate whose an Ipswich fan reckons they'll struggle again.

Of course, I'm not saying it's easier for us and us alone, I'm saying there's a pool of maybe 7-8 clubs that will be fighting to stay up, us one of them. That's a far better prospect and far better odds for us than in some recent years when it was only maybe 3-4 clubs with a real chance of going down.

Surely we have a crack at that valuation. He fits the bill of a player that would be worth keeping if we went back down but also solves a need in midfield. Good value too.

Fair, if there are possibly 7-8 clubs under pressure that would give us a chance. Or we could do a Sunderland of course.

They said the team will be built around speed so suppose any player they are looking at would need to be quick.

Tbh I'm a little surprised only a few are mentioning the need to improve the goalkeeping position. Pandur did ok shot stopping wise, but his decision making and distribution are bloody awful. We're gonna need a strong spine to compete and Pandur could be classed as one of the weaker links at that level.

I expect a strong keeper will come in and Pandur will start the season but need to up his game thricefold to retain his spot.

A lot of talk about using Sunderland as a blueprint to stay up, them signing Granit Xhaka was the best thing they did.

Is there any ex prem midfielder that's getting on a bit but that we could go for? I think the experience in midfield is vital if we want to stay up.

Having a quick look with AI it mentioned players like Hojbjerg, Van de beek, Amrabat, Partey, Gundogan, Fabinho, Neves. Probably all out of our reach but you never know with our owner..

It's the one position we've been crying out for for years too, a proper defensive midfielder...

I think he’s capable of raising his game with the right coaching, and really is an excellent shot-stopper, but at the very least he needs a bit of competition

Pandur has been ok but we should be looking for better. Other than shot stopping he's not the best at the other things needed to be a prem keeper. Distribution being borderline terrible. Every game I've been to this season I've seen Pandur miss kick or hesitate a long throw to start a counter because he knows he doesn't have the ability.

He'd make a very good number 2 though which we haven't had for a long time.

Wouldn't want partey anywhere near our team, however think people misunderestimate the pull of the Premier league and the finances involved. I think we could aim to get a player from any team not in Europe and possibly some from the europa/conference.

Chuck some more names out there because why not, are any of these attainable?

Joe Willock
Harrison Reed
Lewis Cook
Ryan Yates
Will Hughes

Surely need to target a few players with significant Prem experience
