Why should we sign Joff when 1) Leeds considered him not good enough for the Prem and 2) he went off the boil towards the end of this season?

I wouldn't be against it if he was cheap, but the suggestions are he won't be, and that money could likely be better spent elsewhere.

Not sure on how expensive he would be, 1 year left and very clearly wants to be here.

I know rangers want him but player power is a big thing nowadays and he could be sat there on his Leeds Prem wage for a year and then they get nothing.

Surely can’t be any more than 4/5m with a year left? 15 goals and 4 assists or whatever he ended up on, on top of the 5 goals he got under that turgid Selles set up.

Fair to say he’s developed since he last played at prem level and worst case he’s proved he’s a top player to have at championship level should we go straight down

I think the PL will be at its weakest in a long time next year with Pep gone, Slot struggling at Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs in a mess, and Iraola, Glasner and Silva leaving their clubs.
It was shocking this season too

Where is Iraola going? Because they play some of the best football in the PL
I thought Man U would go for him? Maybe Liverpool?

I think we should sign Joff if we can. There were a few reports a month or so back suggesting he would cost us about £3m. If we can get him for around that then it would represent a good deal IMO. Useful player to be in the squad in the prem, and excellent in the champ if we come straight back down, good age and he wants to be here. For me, any permanents we sign on long term deals should be with that in mind. Have fun with the loans/free agents/short term deals.

It was poor this season, to be fair. Will be weird without Guardiola at Man City. I read somewhere that Maresca is replacing him. I always thought De Zerbi would replace Guardiola but he went to Spurs instead, obviously. Alonso going to Chelsea feels weird as well as I always imagined him going to Liverpool.

No idea, but staying up is a much more achievable prospect than 2 or 3 years ago.
I think i'm seeing it in a similar but different way, I think the average ability level of the teams will be closer, with those at the top not miles ahead like they have been for large parts of the last 10 years, but I'm struggling to see obvious candidates to finish lower than us, Cov and Ipswich.....there don't seem to be any basket case clubs or clubs on the edge of losing their marbles....a lot of the middle ground teams now seem to be sensibly run and making well educated signings.....like this year I think the 3rd bottom team will go down having gained in and around 40 points, which is a tough old target to hit

Palace, Fulham, Forest, Leeds, Sunderland, Cov, Ipswich and us I think are all prospects to go down.

I’ll be glad to see the back of Bernardo silva
Fantastic player that he is
To me he ended up slowing down every move and it killed the game
And ye Alonso isn’t right is it

Yep totally agree, but I can't see any of the non-promoted clubs absolutely tanking like Wolves have done this year. I'd guess that they'll all exceed 30 points, if not higher which will make staying up a tough gig

I could see Palace tanking if Wharton and a few others leave, it's easy to forget how poor they looked before Glasner came in. Fulham have a few quality players in Wilson and ESR but sounds like Wilson may be on the move to Villa so they could be in a bit of trouble too. Agree no one will be quite as bad as Wolves but there's a few teams that feel like they're coming back to the pack.

I bet Alonso and his agents wish they'd have just sat a little longer before committing.
