Ahhh Lyon man.

Smug will tell all, the bait in the Loire valley is LEVELS
Just to be a bit particular, yes the Loire is great for food, but Lyon is in the Rhone valley. However, the food is also good there :)
And for those into red wine, the Rhone wines are very good and don't need to cost much.
It's always difficult to get over from here to get to SOL games, so it's really nice of the club to arrange a tour of Europe to help us a bit;)

This team has now overtaken Peter Reids as my favourite, today has been nothing short of monumental.

Le Briss the greatest manager in my lifetime

Le Fee and Xaka, alongside Phillips the greatest players in my lifetime

O'Nien our greatest story and there could easily be a documentary just about him.

Why oh why did Fulwell 73 not keep Sunderland till i die going?? Would have easily been the greatest story ever told since the bible

Clubs already through to the group stage of the Europa League 26/27,
Bournemouth
Sunderland
Real Sociedad
Celta Vigo
Juventus
AC Milan
TSG Hoffenheim
Bayer Leverkusen
Marseille
Rennes
AZ
Torreense.
Torreense is quite the ****ing story mind.

Never been anything.

2,000 capacity ground.

1 game from Primera for first time.

Just beat Sporting to win Portuguese Cup

Now they could get to play Sunderland.

What a time for their fans.

Ha I can appreciate I’m not totally their with French valleys but I do know that it’s often said Lyon’s or San Sebastián are shouts for best scran places in Europe.

They both in.

Is it St Etienne that’s Loire then? I sure I had this in my head due to the Derby between Lyon and St Etienne

Been a class season for O'Nien, he must be so proud of himself. Looks at home at this level and the concerns that he'd be giving away penalties every game were unfounded. Some of his passing has been absolutely superb although that's always been the case.

He's a talented lad, not many players pinging it about with both feet like he does.

Firstly.
I have been keeping tabs on what's been garn on here down south of you fookers <laugh>
Me lad got stuck in traffic on the way up. He got there and posted a cracking video of us celebrating.
I'm gutted me and him didn't get to many matches together through shìtty work shifts etc over the years.
But I'm made up for him to experience that joy of our club building from the worst in our history to back to the best in my lifetime.
I'm so fooking made up now it's unreal.

Beating the scum home and away. Finishing above them and fooking European football ahahaha.

I'm pìssed, I've been out with my best friend a wolves supporter today.
I'm off over to the warm glow thread on here next :emoticon-0148-yes:

Ahahaha gerrrrrin ya foooka

Special thanks to RTB for his amazing match threads all season, honestly mate they are brilliant.
Onto the match
Well, Well, Well !!!
I’m just so proud of all the players and staff, when that whistle blew I just stood back and took it all in, God I wish a few of my family were still around to enjoy it. I filled up to be honest and thought about each and everyone of them and what this would have meant to them.
My lovely mam loved the lads and attended when she could, I felt her presence today and it was a lovely feeling. This club, this squad, the management team, the owners have made me the happiest I’ve been for a good while. I’m emotional writing this, love and best wishes to you all, let’s enjoy the summer, we truly deserve it ! Have a wonderful summer everyone

Back home and all I can say is, is this a dream? Sunderland in Europe. I'm still trying to get it to sink in.

At the start of the season I'd have been happy to finish 16th or 17th but hoped to finish mid table, between 12th and 15th. Yet the start gave me hope for more and every game, each stage, each test let me think we could get more. Europe was a dream, but not unrealistic. Yeah, we had a couple of sticky patches but we're always in touch and bar a couple of poor displays (Fulham and Forest in particular) our performances against the "big boys" showed we could compete and then it boiled down to today.

We have just taken on the world club champions, 2 time champions league winners and current Europa conference champions and beat them. Not just a hard fought, backs to the wall, tight win, but a deserved victory where we were clearly the better team. We've done the double over them and if there was any justice we'd have ran out 2 or 3 goal winners today. A bit of (unusually) poor goalkeeping in my opinion let them back in after we went 2 up. But with luck and better finishing we could have been well clear before then. Brobbey should have scored, ELF was unlucky with his first half shot being saved, Anguilo have a good shot just to close to the keeper that a yard or 2 further across would have caused real problems for the keeper, a couple of blocks and pull backs that didn't pick out a man. Any of those go in and it's a comfortable win for us. The only worry I had was that at 2-1 they'd get a daft one to equalise, especially as Kavanagh was in one of his crap modes. But that joy at full time! I'd been checking the other scores during the game and knew Brighton were getting well beat, so so long as we won we were in Europe, just whether Europa League or Conference. So when we won and I'd seen the Brentford result I knew we'd made it but can still barely believe it.

From struggling against Accrington and Gillingham and Fleetwood. From losing a play off final with the last kick, from failing in the play offs against Lincoln, from the double relegation and Phil Parkinson, next year we're in Europe. It's barely believable. If this is a dream I don't want to wake up!
