Understandably most of the posts are celebrating getting into Europe but I’d like to say that we played really well today.
We were quite impressive and made Chelsea look very ordinary.

I hope the soft goal Roefs let in has put Chelsea off wanting to buy him. He probably wouldn’t fancy dropping down anyway.
Luke has consistently been in the top 3 of our players these last 2 months. He’s not being carried or making do. His passing out from defence is almost always pinpoint and starts lots of our attacks. His defending is as good as anybody else we have.
As well as all that, he’s inspirational and I’d have no problem if he was a first team regular starter.

All of them have been a credit to the Club. We will be needing a larger squad though because of the extra games.
KLD and RLB deserve some kind of recognition from the City. We are a very well run Club.

Anyway, back to the celebrations.

I think Roefs happy for another year.

My worry is Enzo. I just think his stats are gonna make it so hard to retain him.

Trai was immense today. Him and O’Nien have proper gone from the floor to the ceiling with us it’s beautiful.

My hope is Enzo knows what its like to make a step up and it not work out! He is happy here is working with RLB and we have just qualified for Europa league. Thats not to be sniffed at for a decent step up in what they will be achieving next year for all the lads without moving clubs!

He is our best player imo, Xhaka gets all the plaudits but Le Fee is unbelievable how much he gets stuck in!

That’s the hope mate. The Regis factor may get us another year.

I think the bulk are safe now. Short of wild CL offers they don’t need move.

Enzo is just such a complete player now he could go and play literally anywhere, and the football press have seen it now.

7th man wow. Unlike smug I always fear the worst lol. Any result today and I would not of been disappointed after the brilliant season we’ve had. Think I’m just in a bit of joyous shock how this season has gone and gutted it’s now ended. Looking forward to everyone’s views on the coming season oh and the additional game or 2 in EUROPE. HTFL get the **** in

Wow that has to be up there, as one the best atmospheres in that stadium .. It is rare to get 90 minutes like that ... I was at the SportingLisbon game and never thought I would see the likes again...beyond happy and we fully deserve it .. Well done everyone we were class today.

Wow, what a day (understatement of the year!) feeling very emotional right now. I’m on the bus heading back to Washington and just starting to gather my thoughts. Firstly, today would not have felt the same without the amazing company I had today from members of this forum. You know who you are so I’m not going to name names! Our forum is a community, almost like a family and it provides a level of companionship and support that transcends it to more than just a football forum. I’ve met people today for the first time ever yet see them now as friends.

On the approach to the ground prior to kick off I paid a visit to my Dads “brick” in the wall of fame. I gave it a gentle tap and whispered “Come on Dad……let’s do this!” Nothing more, nothing less. It worked, my God did it work!

I ended my night in Sunderland in the palatial setting of the Wheatsheaf - the pub my dad took me to when we first started to go to Sunderland games when I was 15-16. I would have loved for him but to have experienced today, to have experienced European football together but sadly that was never going to be possible but felt like I had to honour his
Memory with a swift pint in the Wheatsheaf - the pub he first took me to when we first started going.

Today has been an amazing motional day for
me but it’s b en a good day! An historic day! Enjoy it! Savour it! And enjoy every last second of it you beautiful Bar Stewards!

Folk already saying we'll be in a relegation fight next season due to Europe and 2nd season syndrome. Possibly, but i dont care. This is the greatest thing this club has did in my lifetime. Yes, we could have maybe sneaked an FA Cup or League Cup win at some point. Have a bit of silverware. But i would argue that getting into Europe, over a 38 game season, in the Premier League, for a club like ours, that is a bigger achievement than fluking a cup win.

this Sunderland ripped up the history books and they way it is. Second season syndrome my arse

Didn’t think I was too bothered about a European place until last week when we beat Everton. Too much too soon and all that. Then I thought, you can’t turn down opportunities like this when they’re on offer.

A brilliant day, a brilliant performance, a brilliant result and European football for the first time in my lifetime. Shated with my wife, my dad, my son in law and two grandkids. Memories like this are lifetimes long. Absolutely brilliant.

Looking forward to a summer where some strengthening needs to happen with the confidence that they’ll give it their best effort again.

Bring on Europe! Haway the lads!
