I cut through Prospect centre quite a bit as I use the Barber outside for my beard, I was only thinking the other day how it is such a decent little shopping centre. All units full, a nice mix of shops. I hope WH Smiths gets replaced quick enough.
Don't go in there too much now as I mostly work from home. Who filled the Wilko unit?

At least the wilkos has been filled now by Boyes.

Prospect does tend to re-fill its vacancies quite quickly. Whereas Princes Quad is just dead.
The guy running prosepect centre is a British Pakistani lad running it for his dad. He will do a deal on any unit to get them filled. In my dealings with Pakistanis over the years they know some money is better than no money.

My barber rents from him in prospect centre and I couldn't believe how little he is paying.

Princes Quay seem to have some issue understanding how to fill their units. If they gave independents a reason to move in there the place could be thriving again in time.

I happened to be down there while they were putting these up the night before filming.
Loads of signage and plenty of film people kicking around
All good stuff for the City
We’re sat in the Wonky Tulip now after a good look round. Really interesting stuff. I’ve had a nosy around all the sets that I’ve known about and love how they manage to eke so many different aspects of usually Victorian London out of 2 or 3 streets. Plenty of tourists around today too.

Great stuff for the city as you say.

The family run Batley market as well.

Now that the Castle St roadwork's are just about complete, still a few bits to do I understand, and Queens Gardens refurbishment doesn't seem far off, things are starting to come together a little. Shame about the former Co-Op building, don't think that I will get to see how that turns out. But whilst looking around QG, bits of it are open, I coulldn't help but notice how scruffy the former Police Stations building is starting to look. It was opened so such fanfare it seems to have slipped somewhat in appearance. Not sure who is responsible for it looking like it is but it puts a damper on the the rest of the upgrades going on around.

Another thing that I saw was the the office part on the ground floor of the BBC building is closed, no one in the reception. So I wrote to the BBC, basically saying are your rationalising your studio count and is Hull for the chop. On a related matter being a viewer of Look North programme the weather forecast for the 6:30am bullitin seems to come from anywhere other than the East Yorkshire/North Lincolnshire area. Last week was really pushing things, the weather forcast came from Berwick, covering the Newcastle area. I await their reply, I didn't realise that it has to go through many channels before reaching a person who can actually reply.
